Just got home from Raw Spirit 08 and new to raw

I am new to raw, my name is Eva. I just got home from Raw Spirit Fest 2008 on Monday night and I had the best time of my life. I am still a vegetarian, pretty much, and I am discouraged that I have come home and almost immediately started eating cooked again. I had the most AMAZING time eating only raw there, and my skin cleared up, I experienced the most bliss of my life there. :) Now I am back home and… I live in Savannah, GA< where it is hard to keep the raw up. I have no real intentions of being 100% raw, for now it is to add more and more living frequency foods into my lifestyle.

Any suggestions?

I love you all so very mcuh and thank you for takign this journey with me! :)
Love and peace to you,
Eva

I think you have more options than you realize…your climate is good, so you probably have farmers' markets year-round (check localharvest.org for something close by). Some specialty items can be ordered online, but the key is fresh produce and lots of it. Now is also a good time to start a winter garden for kale, salad greens, etc.

If you can manage a green smoothie for breakfast, a salad for lunch, and keep your snacks based on fruit, raw nuts, and an occasional bar, then have a cooked vegan meal for dinner, guess what - you're 60-70% raw, without that much effort. (Do try to give up the egg and dairy if you're still into it…)

The nice thing about a raw diet is that it actually takes less effort than cooking. Keep in mind, everyone at a raw event is showing off their most fabulous dishes, but most eat fairly simply at home. Goneraw.com is an amazing reference for recipes, so check that out if you have a chance.
