bob marley never gets old. i could listen to him day in day out, 24/7, 365! the more you listen to the words the more you learn from them. i am always gaining more insight or seeing his lyrics in a way i didn't before.
bob inspires me to live free and to live with love and peace in my heart and mind. he should be appreciated by smokers and nonsmokers alike.

I know this was posted a while back, but I figured I had to share! By far for me I would say if you get the chance go to a BOB MARLEY TRIBUTE FESTIVAL in Hawaii.

You can't beat the fact that

1. You get to celebrate a great man on/near his birthday! Every year the first weekend in Febraury.
2. You are on an island...what would be better than being at a Reggae concert on an island?
3. You get to hear/see 15+ artists all in one show for such a low price!

Although some people that go there dont appreciate it as much as others (a bunch of high school kids that go to show off and try to smoke week without getting caught), it still makes for a great show. As long as you go in your own little world or with a group of people with the same passion for reggae music you will definitely enjoy the show!

I went the last 2 years I was in Hawaii and was able to see people like

Morgan Heritage, Alpha Blondy, Tanya Stephens, Lauryn Hill, Jeniffer Johns, O-Shen, Rebel Souljahs, Most High, Irie Souls, Marlen Asher, Public Property, and so much more!

Best Reggae show?

We all have had an amazing experience at a reggae show.

Lets get the pod back up and running and tell everyone about a reggae experience.

For me it was a few years ago when Matisyahu was on the up and up at the Long Beach Arena at Bob Marley Day. It was truly a zenlike religious experience.

Nothing compares to it. However we were fortunate to see Lucky Dube(RIP) prior to his passing.

Reggae unites us all. It is peace music.

For Relaxing and mellowing out try DUB

Eh Mon! What other music is more relaxing and peace-loving than Reggae? For me, Reggae is the expression of all people to break the chains of oppression by the powers that be, and become free at last. It is a peaceful music style and brings out the best in me in the way I relate to other people regardless of our differences. Long live Reggae! Long live Bob Marley!

Jimmy Cliff rocks...I saw him a few years ago at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. My favorite album is "The harder the come" movie soundtrack. Keep on the reggae....Also check out Black Uhru, and Burning Spear.

Looking for the best "gotta dance NOW' music in all genres, but would especially appreciate any input from Pod members on current hot toons. I have most of Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, and several collections of "the greatest, etc." such as Putamayo. But again, would love to update with hot hot hot happening now dance groove, like some of the best Bob Marley did, where you simply cannot NOT move...

I'm starting a dance-related Pod soon (not sure of title yet, maybe "Naked Ladies Dancing for M", or maybe Funkilicious Fusion Dance Camp), and will be happy to refer people over here.

Hey, would you perhaps post maybe your Top Ten faves (emphasis on power dance grooves)? That would be most excellent. I'm going to try and infuse some reggae in to one of my dance workout classes, so your input would be awesome.
