  Nishtha : Imaginative Mellifluous Philosopher

Hello, It's Monisha, aka Nishtha

Nishtha said Feb 21, 2007, 11:15 PM:

Hello everyone,

I went to a Shaman who specializes in Reiki and wrote about my experience in this blog post so that will give you a little insight into what I've experienced….for me, a person's intentions should find vibrational resonance with the person they hope to heal….if the patient / client needs conversation, the practitioner should offer conversation, if the patient / client needs human touch for solace and comfort, the practitioner should be able to offer that, etc.

Whenever, If ever, the practitioner feels that what the patient / client is asking for is more than the practitioner can give, they should politely and firmly inform the patient / client that they are not the best choice to be that person's healer. Ideally, the practitioner would have other contacts/healers in their network that they might refer the person to so that the person might find the appropriate vibrational resonance and receive the healing that they need.

That's my two cents on the matter, after having experienced numerous healers (western doctors as well as alternative medicine practitioners) who have been unable to effectively address my pains and illnesses.

When I found healers/practitioners that were willing to work with me - on MY Terms - I knew that I was halfway to Healed! I have beautiful people in my life who provide me with herbs, acupuncture, massage, Reiki and Conversation(!) that are Vitally Important for my Health.

As a practitioner of Healing Arts myself, I have a plethora of skills and expertise to offer to people who “knock on my door” - I spend a lot of time learning about what the person needs and wants from me and I then figure out if I have the requisite skills (and time and energy) to devote to that person's case.

We create a “contract” that seems reasonable to both of us, revisiting it as often as necessary throughout the course of our partnership (I firmly believe that healers and patients/clients are “partners” in the healing process). If there comes a time when the partnership doesn't seem to bear fruit, we jointly assess the situation and determine appropriate next steps; sometimes, that means termination and referral elsewhere, sometimes, it simply means we need to change tactics, perhaps take a breather and/or try something different.

Invariably, this approach to my work keeps my energized and engaged in all the clients/patients I see. I never feel drained by my clients/patients and I always feel that I'm doing my best to help them on their path.
: - )

If only more Doctors and other Healers would follow my lead…. ;-)

I am thrilled that you are seeking out paths for yourself to evaluate now and I am happy to encourage and empower you in that journey!

Hello!

I was introduced to Reiki at the Kerrville Folk Festival a few years ago. It was not explained to me, but I was in physical pain and grateful for any ministration, no questions asked, I am sorry to say. But after that session, my mind was so clear that I wrote a song and played it unwritten to a very elite song circle and the only criticism I received was that people wanted to hear the chorus more.

And believe me, this is not the sort of problem I usually have! Usually it is the ho-hum sort of response. Well deserved, I'm sure, if all is taken to account.

So, reading Nishtha's post, I am heartened. Actually, I may be a practitioner, except without the bodywork, which is what I thought it was. I work in mental health (don't gag, please), but I am considered unconventional, a maverick of sorts. So now that I have a boss who, while not understanding me completely, is actually delighted by my approach, which, given the context of the mental health conglomerate, sounds a lot like what Nishtha does!

I have often thought of tacking on a therapeutic massage certificate and starting a private practice where I can be flexible in providing what is needed without worrying about getting fired (again).

hehe;-)

This is going to be a GREAT pod!

Well…. I may as well introduce myself too…. (sorry about the misunderstanding earlier in the thread)…

I am Kelly…. I've been very interested in the energetic healing arts and methods for several years now… I've received Reiki in person once or twice before and definitely feel there is much more work that I could do on myself by receiving further attunements… so I am eager to participate with this pods to receive and share the abundance that comes from Reiki attunements!

I, myself, have a pod here as well called Divinations … explore if you like… topics covered range from tarot, astrology, numerology, etc….

I am extremely active in the Zaadz community and am thrilled to help promote the beauty that I find within the community and share it with the “offline” world too…  I am looking forward to watching this pod grow towards it's highest potential!!

Bright Blessings!
Be well,

So, it’s absolutely the ‘right time’…And the ‘BEST” place..i would have loved to add a link from BEST going to Zaadz…but then can’t remember how i did it last..so..:)))))

I welcome the chance to talk with others about the wonderfulness of Reiki!

I am interested in learning Reiki, mainly as both my daughter and myself suffer asthma..  and I suffer from thyriod problems which in turn can coarse aches and pains in my joints and would like to learn more about Reiki so that I can perform self healing..

Although I have to be honest.. I know it works.. and I know its alot to do with energy, but I dont know really how it works… so would love to learn all about it..

I found my way here after Nikki found me and invited me over.  I have been attuned to Usui Reiki levels 1 and 2 from a teacher overseas.  I am still working on completing my level 2.

The energy work is amazing!  I regularly cleanse and charge crystals with it, and use it on myself and my animal companions when i remember :P.  I found it is very useful to use on your food and drink as well, with something like, “I ask that I recieve everthing I need from this….nothing more, nothing less.”  I really look forward to playing with the energy here.  I already love playing on Zaadz, and have barely scraped the surface.  It is great!

Greeting all,

It was back in 1995 that I “got”* my level 1 training in Usui Shiki Raoho as well as the Tibetan Method. I clearly remember not feeling much in my body during the first part of my attunement. Than the part came that dealt with the Tibetan Method. It was something that I felt through my whole body a huge invisible opening of spirit through all my cells. It was funny when I got home I was sitting at the kitchen table and Lucy, my cat jumped up on my lap and set her-self between my hands and instantly began to purr.

Day to day I do not use Reiki much. At times I will use in combination with head massage to help someone with a headache. Many times it does the trick.

*I never liked the term “got” I always felt it was more about getting an awareness and clearing energy centers for the ability to give more than take.

Hi, my name is Istazi, and I have worked with Reiki for almost 20 years. My dog Chester, was the one who brought me to it. I rescued him down in Austin, Texas, and he was sick from the get go until eventually his stomach and intestines twisted. Nobody knew what was wrong with him, and we tried everything! We made a weekly trip to the vet with him vomiting severely or in horrible pain. During this time I was studing to become a massage therapist, and one of my student buddies happened to be a Reiki 2. She offered to work on Chester for free, and I will be honest with you, I had so many doubts. As a kid everyone wanted me to put my hands on them, because they warmed up and made their pain go away. However, I was told by others that this was evil, so I shut it all down. I was filled with all the doubts that everyone had planted within me when I took Chester over to see her. He was an American Eskimo, so he was a very high strung dog. She wanted him to remain calm…yeah right! Well, she put her hands on him, and he immediately fell asleep. He trembled at places, but never woke up. We left, he threw up one last time, and he never had another problem again. I was told that I would be lucky if he made it to five years old. He lived to 15.

When I received my Second Degree, my master disappeared on me. I had no one to ask any questions of, so I had to go within. I realized the energy was my true teacher, and I started listening.

I became a Reiki Practitioner and later a Master/Teacher…however, I prefer the word guide. I am a rebel in the Reiki community, because in many ways I feel it is too limiting. The only limits on what this energy can do are the limits we impose upon it. The energy is alive, vibrating, dynamic, creative, and it is waiting for us to interact with it. Every single being in this world is different, so why do the treatment the same? Sometimes during a treatment, I may tone, or do a gemstone layout with the symbols, or dance, or drum it or draw symbols over the client….whatever the energy guides me to do…and yes, I do many hand positions. So, this is what I taught for years….I call myself a guide more because I feel like I guided my students into a deeper relationship with the energy to a certain point…maybe a cliff, and it was up to them as to what to do from there…they could stay there, which would be more than fine, or they could fly and experiment and go even further…

I rarely teach anymore…I do work with it all the time in various ways…I am creating Reiki meditation CD's, and I am writing a blog here that covers spiritual thought to Reiki to Shamanic work. I live in Colorado with my dogs and cats and the dearest boyfriend in the world. I am an artist, and I feel that my artwork is another form of ceremony for me. I am hoping to create a book that contains my artwork and rituals within it…

I miss my dog Chester, but I am so grateful for everything that he taught me. He was my guide into the energy. Anyway, I love all the posts here, and I look forward to sharing every now and then.

Thanks for being so kind! It really brightened my day. Today I went outside to take a look at my garden before the next snowstorm moves in. It has been a very long and cold winter with a lot of snow. This is great because of the drought we've been in, and I am grateful for every flake that has come our way….but today! I saw that a dandelion, a columbine, my poppies, sage and yarrow are starting to come back up! It's way early, but they are coming! Also, my first pansy survived the winter and it has a bloom! What joy! I just have to share this with anyone out there living in winter land…Spring is coming!

I am grateful for all of you.
Thank you,

One of these days I plan to figure it out. If not I'll just return to it and experence it and try to remember more on my next time around. haha.. I've been a 3rd degree reiki teacher for several yrs now and have had the pleasure of doing distant attunements via the internet all around the world. I was introduced to this pod via Danaand Nikki. It sure seems to be rather active and full of excitement and curiousity. By the way I can't spell so don't concern yourself with that because I don't. Anyway I look forward to experencing each of you as we get to know each other by our postings. Seeya Gary

Hello, all of you beautiful people!!!  Thank you, Dana and Nikki, for this lovely pod and for inviting me to join.

I sense the magic of the energy here and in reading over some of the introductions I agree with so much of what has been stated that I will not repeat it.

Caitlin addressed the magic of Reiki and how it vibrates with the incredible energy of unconditional love.  It is absolutely true for me.

I was introduced to Reiki years ago by a massage therapist who used Reiki and it manifested in bringing me much love, peace, calmness, joy, balance and a deep sense of well-being.  I did not want to get off the table it was soooo wonderful!  Since then I have had Reiki by other massage therapists and  distance Reiki sent to me with very powerful results.  I have not been Reiki “attuned” or practiced Reiki, but would love to explore and learn more.

Dana is a personal friend of mine and as lovely in person as she is on this website-even moreso.  I am honored to know her and I thank her for inviting me to Zaadz.

Hi there all!

I would love to learn more and even receive atunement (I guess that's how you put it).  I want more of 'God' or 'unconditional love'.

Actually, if any of you who are atuned would like to send healing energy mine and my daughter's way right now (we've been sick and she also broke her foot last week), then I am very open to receiving this wonderful healing energy.

I'm an engineer who is frustrated by the dryness of my work and wants Spirit more than I want anything else!  I believe that from Spirit all inspiration flows.  I have not been inspired like I use to be - have written poetry and stories, an artist, and even have started creating music.  Yet, lately, I haven't done anything in the arts for a long time.  Don't know if the war or using the left side of the brain all of the time has affected me or what, but I know that I want my energy to be more vibrant and alive with Spirit so that I can enjoy life and bless others somehow.  I want to be able to flow.

So, that's a lot.  I am so happy to join this group and I appreciate all those who are involved with Reiki.  I believe that I am ready to find out more and be a part of this.

With Love and Respect - Namaste (recognizing the God within you ),
Kristina (Zenner)

My name is Laura, I'm 23, and I was happy to be invited to this pod. I have never experienced or used Reiki, but was introduced to it from some volunteers at a horse rescue where I also volunteer. I would say that the Director of the rescue is very open to alternative treatments and anything that would help the horses. We have at least 2 Reiki practitioners that give treatments to the horses - we also have acupuncturists and an animal communicator that work with the horses.

I have wanted to learn more about and get Reiki attunements, but I am still looking for a paying job (I do alot of volunteer work for now) and have not been able to afford classes. I signed up on the One Reiki Tree site for an attunement, so I am hoping that will happen soon and I can learn more about and use Reiki in the near future. Of course, I plan to help the horses and others with Reiki when I learn it :)

Hey everyone, my name is Brian and I am 16 years old.  I am currently a First Degree practitioner of Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki.  While I am somewhat of a novice,  I feel that I am gifted in this style of healing.  Reiki has helped me to stay in touch with my own energy and to maintain a positive relationship with my own life force.  I have found that Reiki is a system that accelerates my spiritual development and mental/emotional wellness as well as it restores the life force that creates physical health.  I am always eager to educate those around me about this sacred art as the ability to heal is as natural as the ability to breathe.  It is a talent that we have allowed to fall out of our awareness and i believe that everyone can benefit from this skill.  Learning Reiki has created a new relationship with my own spirit and has inspired me to stay in touch with my own consciousness.  I hope that this Reiki Tree will continue to inspire others to get in touch with the healer within.

namaste,

I love the energy in this space.  I have a tattoo of “Rei” in kanji on my arm.  My name is Rey and I am attracted to the Spiritual wisdom behind Reiki. I was reading an article about Reiki in a bookstore and a Reiki Master happened to be giving free Reiki healings inside. I received my first initation from her and through the years received levels 2 and 3.  Last year I was attuned to Karuna in exchange for services. I use Reiki primarily as a Spiritual tool for personal growth and to heal myself. I dont have a practice but I am part of a prayer group and I try to heal others distantly though the emails I receive.  I feel that in order to truly heal/help others you must first be healed yourself and that's what I hope to accomplish with Reiki. It's an honour to be part of this pod.

I had a great massage recently where the therapist said she always asked God to use her as a tool and to guide her to find what and where needed the most work and how to help the client.  It truely was a wonderful experience!  So I don't know that she was officially using Reiki, but wow!

I will be checking out how to find a practictioner near me and try it out.  I am undergoing great change in my life and am embracing the flow.

Hello to all,

I recently began shamanic journeying, and when I visited the Upper World, my new guide gave me a stern scolding for becoming a 1st Degree practitioner and then not using Reiki for 20 years!  So I bought Diane Stein's book, Essential Reiki, and started reading up on the positions, as well as doing self-healing.  Was trying to figure out how I could possibly afford the Second Degree attunment (forget about Master!) when I ran into Erick and family in a local coffeeshop.  He told me about this site, and that he's going to teach a Reiki intensive in the near future.  How's that for a push in the right direction?   My guides don't mess around!

Reiki for free is a wonderful concept – the way it should be.

Time to find willing bodies to practice on.  My daughter used to be a Reiki sponge when she was little, as well has having a healing gift of her own.  Maybe we can trade off!

One person I was able to treat was my old man kitty, who died almost 2 weeks ago.  It was his time, I had no expectations of him being healed back into life, but I was astonished at the intensity of the feeling in my hands – like nothing I've ever felt.

I look forward to becoming more active as a practitioner, and I'm glad to have been introduced to this site!

Hi My name is La.

I love this!

I first learned about Reiki about a year ago and wanted an attunement.  Sadly, the attunement was beyond my financial capacity at that time.

In for colored girls who have considered suicide/when the rainbow is enuf by ntozake shange there is a moment in the poem where there is a call for healing.  the moment i saw a group of colorful women healing each other through touch, tears, symbolic gestures, and words of affirmation i knew.  it was shift in consciousness.  i vibrated differently from that day on.  this is reiki for me.

From memory (not exact quotation):

lady in green:  I was missing something

laydy in blue:  Something so important

lady in red:  A laying on of hands

lady in green:  I know bout layin on of bodies
given a man all my fleshly self
Not talkin bout my mama holdin me
close i was missin somethin

lady in purple:  something promised

lady in yellow:  a layin on of hands!

lady in green:  something so important

(tears)

lady in purple:  a layin on of hands

love and bliss to all!

melissa, is that your belly with baby in utero?
how beautiful!
how happy i am
for whoever they are!
baby and mother blessings!

here is a creative way for me
to introduce myself
to this lovely, nurturing, responsive
and sweet pod, reiki tree,
from a reiki level one gal,
here goes, “my mythos”…

After being rudely awakened from her divine, free-floating space of eternal, cosmic consciousness, a very wanted child was born violently into the world. She found herself oddly and ill-fitted with an earth family very different from her space family. She learned many things about the temperaments of this species of beings, these humans. She learned of the mysterious beauty of the earth in her happy childhood, romping through her sacred solitude in forests close to her many homes that she shared with her growing family.

As she grew into a lovely young woman, her sensitivities to earth life grew. She opened her heart to a young man who shared his heart with her and they both wanted to marry at the age of 14 rather than be separated by family relocations over which they were mutually powerless. Due to the stuffy mores of modern society, they knew they couldn’t marry, so she ran off with her beloved to live happily ever after. As they almost always do, the fairy-tale elopement ended in a humiliating return to the family nest. Further attempts at escape ended similarly, our young heroine reluctantly ensconced in a family milieu that did not, deep down, seem to be her true heart’s home.

And then, suddenly, tragedy befell her family and the young woman’s flowering heart withered and began to die. She became desperately alone and longed only for the past when she was with her true love and her living brothers three.

It was in a sunny new land of jungles, volcanoes and black sand beaches where the young woman emerged out of her protective and lonely shell in a burst of new life. She quickly came to love this society, a gentle people with kind, smiling faces who wore bright colors, wove baskets, and carried their children draped upon their brown bodies. Their eyes and loving hearts healed a soul like hers that was longing and aching for human warmth and acceptance.

With more family tragedies at hand in this far away land of enchantment and magic known as Guatemala, this now radiant, young woman of 16 years was abruptly removed from the first place where she truly felt at peace. She was becoming too bright, naturally drawing to her other illuminated beings. Her family, insecure about themselves and all they chose to believe, did not like the free being she had become, their darkness only more illuminated as her light expanded and shined. So they banished her from this land of sorcery that beckoned the wild aliveness in the eyes and heart of their truth-speaking daughter. Because of the pain of her subsequent isolation, little did the daughter know that she was in the safe arms of the goddess who held her throughout her suffering and gently groomed her into the wise and loving grown woman she was in the process of becoming.

Reeling in the losses of her true love, grandmother, brothers two, and magical healing land, the young woman found herself in the darkest night of her soul. In the stillness of this quiet place, seeds of light were planted deeply and firmly inside of the suffering young woman who was, by then, a broken-winged bird, exhausted and defeated by the fight to flee her cage. She struggled for her freedom no more.

Meanwhile, through the years of darkness, exile and occasional solitary confinement, the firmly planted seeds began to loosen and find their way upward toward the distant but approaching light. Many would have preferred that she stay silent and still in the darkness. But the seeds grew and gave renewed life to her voice, new winds for her spirits, new feathers for her wings, and a new song to carry in her heart. She sang across the land as she rose above the ashes of her past, beginning a new life. She became a free woman and the seeds of light were spinning into long rays of brilliant colors that emanated from her heart throughout her aura. Many years of loving and learning unfolded on the paths she was now free to travel upon. The light colors that even she could not see, drew to her a true spirit family.

The young woman, now a croning sage, continues in the joyous dances of loving sprinkled with occasional tears of mourning that nurture her inner gardens. She embraces the young, yearning woman who endured the sorrowful and mourning of her early days alone. She comforts her inner wailing infant whose mother debauches with friends across the field, and mends the bruises of her innocent child within. She weeps for the suffering of the world as she lifts up the heart of compassion. She forgives everyone and everything, unconditionally, and is profoundly grateful for all the gifts of her past, present and future life. Her sage spirit soars from the joy of being of service for this fulfills the self-discovered purpose of her soul. Joyously she joins with her earth spirit family to bring the celestial light of the cosmos—already dwelling in her heart of hearts—down to illuminate and uplift her earthly home. She longs to assuage the suffering of her unhealed terrestrial family, and to bring light and love to all who live in the darkness of fear, in the perceived absence of love. It is for this that she has chosen to be here, and this purpose can only bring her joy.

She asks now that you simply walk beside her and be her friend along the journey toward acsension of the human and earth spirit.

Mary..the LOVE expressed in these words, that flow from the source sing a song of hope!
The sage is awake…
..with a smile, and a bow of respect we welcome YOU…thank you for BEing you…

Our Deepest Fear

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear
is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness,
that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,
talented and fabulous?
Actually who are we not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn’t serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people
won’t feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine as children do.
We were born to make manifest
the glory of God that is within us.
It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.
And when we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people
permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.

Warm greetings and blessings to everyone,

I'm Stuart, and was moved to check out this pod by someone I love dearly. The love and caring expressed here is amazing, and, something that I find to be a blessing, such as this wonder filled site…Zaadz, that makes it all possible.
I have worked with and served as a conduit for energy since I was a child. I have found and treated it as part of the great divine, as are all things. Before I had even heard of the word Reiki, I incorporated it into the bodywork I employed on those who wanted it, as part and parcel, not some seperate treatment. It was, and is, a natural process. Rather than attempting to control this energy, I served as a conduit, allowing the receiver to draw what they could take or handle, instead of “forcing” it in. This form of practice I still use, for control to me implies notions of ego, intimations of personal constructs, even violence. When I learned and became a level 1 practitioner, I found that most of the concepts I already knew. I learned new skills, especially in cleansing myself, focusing, and becoming more open. The rest I found to be somewhat dogmatic, given my former experiences with religions and control. Thus, I did not pursue the higher levels, and have since realized that it should not be about what I feel is being imposed upon me, but what techniques and skills I can incorporate and learn.

Since that time, I was blessed with being introduced to Huichol shamanism, a tradition pre-dating Reiki from South America. An essential component of this practice is energy work, some of it strikingly similar to Reiki. Similar to the major religions of the world, here again was the foundation of core truths, core values, and all else was conditioning, trappings, and societal issues relevant to the spirits whom embrace it.

The laying on of hands is not new to any culture. The how, who, why, what, when, and all other societal issues are imposed upon it resulting in differences that disguise its universiality, and attempt to control its use. In the end, at the core, we recognise, celebrate, and embrace the Divine by any name, and with countless ways of invoking it, each unique to us and our relationship with it. In this pod, I see that, the practitioners from all over, from different socio-eco backgrounds, doing what they can, to help others help themselves. And in the deepest realization, we recognise that this is how we each must learn to become one, and re-incorporate with Creation, by healing ourselves, and opening doors for those around us to do the same, not for gain or personal ego traps, but out of compassion, and most importantly love.

May you and yours:

Be blessed in all things; Have any physical, mental, and spiritual ails healed; Discover, protect, and celebrate the divine inherent in all things; Know and promote everlasting peace; Enjoy un-expected success in all endeavours; and rejoice in unity in the warmth of Creation's all pervading love.

Love and Light

Stuart

I can’t believe I haven’t jumped in here yet! I could have sworn I had. Oh well…

I’ve been reading all your posts… FABULOUS!! How wonderful to see so many who touch others and/or are touched by Reiki… :)

I took my first Reiki “course” in February of 2006 and followed up with Level II in May. So, it’s been a year and I’m not quite ready for my Master attunement, although I plan on getting there at some point…

I was introduced to Reiki by my therapist, who is a Reiki Master. She used some techniques on me as she helped me work through my anxiety issues. Then, she suggested I work with her teacher… And I did. As time went on, I was so intrigued, that I felt a calling to study it…

Now, I work with this same Reiki Master Teacher once a month. She practices “energy work,” which is a mixture of Reiki, transpersonal counseling and whatever else works for me. And let me tell you, it DOES work!

What I find interesting is that everyone is a “healer,” but there are those of us who feel called to help others and are blessed with the drive/knowledge/skills/know-how to go ahead and do it. If that makes sense?! Hehe!!

Blessings and light ~ Stacy

I am a spiritually attuned man in his late 40's who has slipped and slid around in the world of Samsara for awhile now but is tuning in on his true self.

I am struggling with health issues right now but am praying daily that strength will pull me toward a more integrated living and a healthier body.

I am grateful that zaadz exists and am seeking more friends who are spiritually centered.

I am involved with a group in the San Francisco Bay Area which we call “Daring to Live an Authentic Life”.  We meet once a week and we are trying to give each other support and love and information, a fellowship which needs no priest as we are all our own priests.

I would like to know more about Reiki.  I had a session once of reiki healing but I cannot say I experienced too much difference at the time.

More will be revealed they say.

Hi!  My friends know me as mandalafly.  I am an artist, astrologer, and intuitive counselor.  I have been a Usui Reiki Master since 1997.  In the last year I began learning a new lineage known as Reiki Do Satori which means the Reiki of Enlightenment.  It expands upon the original Usui symbols to create pyramids of energy and heal very specific issues.  It has been an UNBELIEVABLE positive force in my life and the lives of those around me.  We meet as a group to share Reiki twice a month in our community, once for practitioners (who sometimes forget that they need to receive sometimes too!) and once a month for anyone who wants to see what it's all about.   There are free classes held bi monthly as well, and a core group of us are working to manifest a Reiki center here in Eugene, OR. so that we can continuously bring this gift to our community and beyond.
Anyone in or around Eugene (or planning to come for a visit) can email me for times and we will welcome you to join us!

HI!

My name is Glynda. I am a Reiki II practitoner. I am attuned for Reiki III, but I have to fulfill a few requirments before I get properly certified by my Reiki Master.

I studied at the National Holistic Institute for massage therapy and health education. During my exit interview right before my graduation, I was asked what were my next steps. I said that I wanted to study Reiki. The words came out of my mouth like I was channeling someone else. I never new what Reiki was nor have I ever heard of it before–well, not consciously. After the interview, I went into the student lounge and I saw a Reiki flyer on the bulletin board. Few days later I called the number and the woman was giving the class said she had one spot left. I wasn't sure about payment but I discovered that I did indeed have enough for the course.

What attracted me to Reiki is the idea of self-treatment. I felt dependent on doctors for my health. Reiki felt self-empowering. Ever since I attended NHI, I believe each person is responsible for his/her own healing process.

Reiki brought abundance to my life. It also brought into focus emotional, spiritual, psychological issues that I needed to address. With more abundance, the more opportunities;  with more opportunities, comes more choices;with more choices, more responsibilities. Reiki made it possible for me to have a more balanced holistic life.

I use Reiki when I bless or say gratitude prayer over each meal. I use Reiki to protect my belongings from theft or being lost. I use Reiki to find lost items. I use Reiki to attract Good in my life. I use Reiki to calm myself before I go to bed. I use Reiki to heal leg cramps. I use Reiki to alleviate others' discomfort. I do this with responsibility. I always add a clause about this being used for the Highest Good for All.

People have experienced Reiki for the first time was astounded by the results. However, they get disappointed if it's not “a one-time cure.” I have to remind them that  healing is a process. Sometimes, an illness is there for a reason that we may not understand now in our human comprehension. One thing I have to remind myself is not to be too concerned about outcomes. Just be there in partnership with the person and be supportive–allow Universe take care of the rest.

Be the blessing you are.  Thank you for the Reiki Tree pod.

With Grace and Gratitude,
Glynda

Hi Gynda,

Thanks and Welcome to the group.

Wow, your journey into Reiki is beautiful, and yes, I resonante with all that you have shared. Reiki for the Highest good for all, as also ‘allowing’ the Universe to take care of the rest. So true!

Another very important part of your share is the ‘one-time cure’. And you have so rightly put it..healing is a process.

Please continue to share your wisdom and insights here. There is so much from your share that I have been re-minding of, as I am sure everyone here too will value.

Thank you,

Love and Gratitude,
12Sages.

Greetings Beautiful people.

I'm Skylyn/ Bonnie. I was attuned to Usui Reiki Level I in '05, after a series of syncronistic events led me to that point. I was re-attuned to Level I last year through a wonderful yahoo group. While I know it isn't necessary to re-attune, it was spiritually necessary for me and it was an incredible experience. I had planned on receiving my Level II back in December of last year,  but due to schedule problems have been unable to receive it.

I practice Reiki daily with my children and Mom-in-law as well as in my meditive practice…oh, and on my plants and trees and our dogs…*huge smile*

I believe Reiki attunements should be given freely, with Love and that this is the way to Truly honour the Universal Life Force, which gives freely of Itself. Every morning I put forth my intent; to be a clear and perfect channel for Reiki energy.

Reiki becomes more to me everyday as I learn and grow in Spirit.

I feel warm, energized and Love after reading all of your heartfelt introductions.
I am happy to be here. *huge smile*

Hello dear.

I know it is not necessary to receive extra attunements, but oh, isn't it wonderful???

I regularly receive and give attunements with a friend of mine who is also a reiki master.

Love to you

Here!  The lazy mans introduction to those around him!

My interest in Reiki stems back many years, but has only revived itself with any kind of force in the past six months or so.  It has not had a great impact on my life, but it is slowly beginning to look like that it just might, in the near future and days to come.

About Me:

David is a writer and avid mystic, under construction and easily moved by the ever-developing comprehension and living of the universal truths within each of our grasps.

His main studies at the moment revolve around Kabbalah, Esoteric Psychology and Freemasonry.

The thing that David loves and regards above all else is his darling fiancée Shah.  She is his every waking moment and every happy reverie.

Cheers.

Hello Beautiful People!!!

I have been a member for a little while now, and just realized I haven't introduced myself.

The end of last year I divorced my husband of 15 years.  We actually grew up together, and have known each other for 32 years!!!  I am still amazed by this.  We ended our marriage amicably.  We love each other deeply, but never had the foundation of a true friendship.  I just turned 40, and I am ready to begin my work as a healer.  I'm coming into my power, and will let nothing stop me from attaining my heart 's desires, which include endlessly giving to others{which I've realized includes me}.  I have two wonderful children, 12 and 14, who are exceptional human beings.  I am in the process of buying my own house, and am loving life!!!

I had my first Usui Reiki attunement just over a year ago, and am currently working on Reiki II.  I love the endless possibilities of Reiki energy.  I cleanse my crystals, energize my food, heal injuries {when I remember:}, recharge electrical equipment, including my car, and many, many more things.

I am looking forward to witnessing, and helping this world transform into a place where we can all live peacefully.

Namaste,
Sandra

Hi all,

I am a life coach and Reiki Master specializing in helping plus size women.  I am also a web developer and recently have been focusing on developing inexpensively for the holistic community.

Reiki really changed my life.  I came into so many ideas that were right on the surface for a long time once I was attuned and I really felt like I was finally home.  I've fixed various household appliances (including a laptop!) with Reiki, I healed my cat's gum disease, and having a concrete way to connect with divine energy has enhanced my spiritual practice considerably.

I truly believe that Reiki energy strengthens and spreads with collaboration so I'm looking forward to being a member of this group!

Hello my name is Al. This coming May 27th I receive my Level 2 attunement. My 49th birthday is May 28th (Memorial Day). I would like everyone interested, in sending Reiki and love to Iran, on this day, (or any day, of course). Maybe, we can prevent another Afghanistan or Iraq war. I am going to send distance reiki to those countries as well. This is also for the benefit of the American, Canadian, British, and other troops overseas, for their wellness, and to prevent any harm.

Greetings Everyone!

I hope this post finds you all having a beautiful day!

My name is Dawn.  I am so happy to have found this pod!  I've been a Reiki consumer for years, but have found that I have reaped the most rewards after receiving my Level 1 attunement.   Before I get into that…just wanted to give you all a few tidbits about moi!  I'm a New Yorker…a free spirit…I love sunshine, knitting, sunflowers, reading, traveling, independent flicks, dancing, smiling, creating pottery and stained glass mosaics, and just learning, loving and trying to get the most out of this life.

I'm a social worker, I work at a nonprofit community center for the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community.  I am also a psychotherapist and aspire to do that full time in a few years.  I enjoy the intimate contact of working with my clients…helping them to achieve their goals (whatever they choose them to be) by giving them the tools to heal emotionally and spiritually.  I am incorporating more of a holistic model into my therapeutic work, as I believe as a whole the mental health field does not recognize the significance of including spiritual healing methods to help people heal emotionally.

Since my first attunement, my spiritual acuity is so much more refined and I feel so much more connected to each and everything around me.  I am more mindful of how I experience every moment, and feel more balanced and grounded.  I believe the beauty of it all is that I myself am strengthened as I act as a channel for the healing energy of Reiki.  I have healed from a very painful neurological condition and believe that my healing process has prepared me to help others heal…I am not only a channel for healing energy, but am simply a role model.  We all know that we get inspired by someone else who has triumphed over something we are currently faced with…I received that kind of inspiration from a multitude of people…and I now hope I can offer that to someone else.

And did I say I'm happy to have found this pod? :-)

Hello I am Sharon LittleDove , I am very honored and very happy to be here with you all. This is such a wonderful place to be and you are all so warm and loving. Please forgive me if I just ramble , I am not good at introductions…I hope I say it all right.  Hugs to all of you  :-))
I was introduced to Reiki  because I have had 3 serious  accidents causing 3 head traumas and I have neck and back injuries ,I was in real need of something to help with the pain.  It was at that point that I decided I was being called to give back to others what i had been blessed with so I became a level 2 practioner.  I had then been asked to join in a long distance healing project that was very active for a long time and seemed to help many people. what love and prayer can do is such a miracle!!  Since I understand about serious trauma so well I feel this spiritual calling to do more ,something on a deeper level so I have tried to set up a website to help others not only with reiki but in other areas (  the website is a feat all its own as i am really computer illiterate and even more so now after the latest tumble down a flight of stairs and crack on the head…. :-))  …   )   My husband and I live in WV with our 2 dogs Shadow and Molly and our sweet little cat spitzy..  I have 2 grown daughters and 4 beautiful grandchildren . , My one big wish is to truly be there to help another when the need arises, the saying is really true ,in the end all there really is nothing but love.  Many Blessing to you all ,Littledove

Good morning everyone!
My name is Kourtnie and I hail from sunny Florida. I am new to Zaadz (and really liking what I see so far) but not so new to Reiki. I learned of Reiki about 10  years ago from a wonderful friend and have been “addicted” to it ever since. I am now a Reiki Master/Teacher in several “traditions” and pass on what I have learned every chance I get. Right now I am in the middle of a Reiki II at the UU Church in Ormond Beach. I really like the exchange you have here…Reiki for you and you give back to the community! I have never “charged” for any of my Reiki sessions or attunements and have on occasion been scolded by traditionalists. I'm so glad to have finally found others that think as I do!
