Hello everyone;

I updated my profile today.

I am new to all of this, and I am a bit nervous. But I want to learn
how to help people to live a happy fullfilled life.

I want to learn reiki to help others and myself. I have read about
the attunements and the detoxifying effects. I also read that reiki
being universal, is within all of us, or we are all together in it's
flow, but not all aware of it. So I know it is in me too.

As I mentioned in my profile, I love to help people and I do, in
anyway that I can. But it has always been hard for me to ask
for help for myself. I am now 56 years old and I am hopeing
the reiki tree can help me too. Then I will be able to help others
more than I do now.

Normally I choose not to share an answer to this question. I had long discussions with Dana over the subject. I used to wonder why so many people had to step down. I used to wonder why so many were stuck in one mode, as if by choice. For me it all comes naturally. The first written thing that began to describe me or more how I work was Quantum Healing(some portion of that name is trademarked and one is supposed to spend a LOT of money before being able to use it). But also, while I am working I used intuition. I can see when I need to see a problem. I can hear when I need to be told a problem. Sometimes I am 'given' or sent 'symbols' to use or to mark around or on a person. I have since run into the symbols. Sometimes they are Reiki symbols. Sometimes other alphabets or symbols. There are times colored light comes through me. Other times just energy, not really being able to be noted. Sometimes I use reflexology from a distance. I use it in person with my family members. Once in a while at a store or out in public I feel a need to grab onto someone and I have to stop and remember to ask first :D. I used to take whatever the vessel was allowed to fix. I do not have to do that anymore. Nor do I have to feel dizzy or very ill or black out when I am near anyone needing my help. Sometimes I am drawn to other tools, that I still poo poo at times. I have certain rocks or rods of minerals that I can feel they sing to me so i get them. I just always KNOW which one to grab though I may not be aware of why, unless someone comes along and says oh no wonder and explains what its common use is.

Hi All I am a Newbie Here,
I have never had a Reiki treatment , and will have one sometime.
I love what this community is about , it is surrounded by people that
are thoughtful , and caring about health.
I have been through a long journey regarding my health.
I believe , things are just starting to look better.

Thanks for sharing your journey, as well.

Working with crystals has been a special part of my energy journey.

I find myself quite sensitive to them - especially ones that have more
intense frequencies than I do at the time I interact. They can be good measures
of how my vibrations are changing - some that I used to react strongly to
I now really enjoy - and some even seem relatively tame.

I've also had experiences where I've felt nudged to create certain pieces
and then had folks who clearly claimed those pieces for themselves.

I look forward to hearing more about your attunement, and how your
journey continues.

How interesting! Thank you for sharing your journey. I have slowing picked up on crystals and stones, but through Shamans, yet my New teacher (friend) will be incorporating them into the Reiki III training I will be taking part in next weekend.

Hi, folks - I followed Dave following Jeff here :-). I connected with reiki and received my first attunement from someone I met through a 12 step recovery meeting in the early 1990s. I did treatments on myself and others in person for several years - and then around 2001, I started feeling drawn to getting my second attunement - but had lost contact with my original teacher, so started looking around for another one. Someone I had met in California (who was adamant about not being spiritual [grin]) insisted I go to a taiko drum concert here in central Ohio, where I met the couple who became my reiki teachers, and from whom I received my second and third attunements in 2002 and 2003. Like others in this thread have mentioned - I don't use the formal approach. Rather I draw on a number of different modalities - and adapt to the needs I sense as I'm working. When I got my 2nd and 3rd attunements, my teachers shared crystals with me. I was pretty skeptical at first. I've done origami (Japanese paper folding) for more than twenty years - and after my attunements, started making mobiles for sale. I was looking for beads to anchor the creations on the string - and realized that crystal beads would help the mobiles be more powerfully healing. The crystals have just about taken over my family room now [rueful look]. As well as the mobiles I make what I call touchstones, or prayer pendants. Since technology and I are wary of each other, I don't yet have pictures of my work to post - I hope that may happen soon. bright blessings - Sylvia

I saw Jeff posted here and I followed him over. It looks like an interesting group, so I joined.

I'm trained through level three reiki, but I don't teach just practice. I've been doing this full time for a number of years, and also have training in Qigong and some shamanic work, My other major focus is earth work, and often when I do "reiki" on someone, that energy will flow, but also the earths energy will flow and it helps balance the person's energy.

I've left the world of following the patterns and timing of the training and follow my intuition and the flow. So it's a real hodgepodge, but is always powerful and correct for the person. Just get my ego out of the way and do what I'm led to do.

I've pretty much found the only limits to this energy is our beliefs and ability to handle the higher frequencies of the energy. We not only can do distance healing, but go backwards and forwards in time. One person or a hundred also doesn't seem to matter. No degree of difficulty in miracles.

I really don't do healing work anymore, it's really consciousness work, so I don't fix a knee for example but try to help the person understand and open to their greater connection to all. If I'm successful, I won't need to see them very often. I lead workshops and retreats to help people explore these modalities, and learn to use them for themselves, make them their own.

The Catholic nuns who taught me reiki said eventually everyone will be born just doing reiki, no more attunements I think we are very close to that time. All paths are leading to the same place, and all work that people are doing with good intentions and open hearts are in alignment.

HI ! I am a Reiki to practitioner.... I was attuned while living at Easton Mountain retreat centered during a gathering of many people who where at different levels of Reiki practice. I was attuned by two masters, at that time, through out the weekend. I was called to this practice by the spirits of the land there and the energy of the people, mostly women who I was interacting with. I was not part of the weekend workshop. I was of service with the community and retreat center.

I had some powerful attunement energy given to me at that time and not much else, everything I found out I found out on my own.... and the story of Reiki in the country...

I practice on myself mostly, a few of the guys volunteered when asked... I later connected with one of the women who did Reiki exchange at her home, so I began to attend those sessions when I could.

Through out the year I practiced and attended sessions and a few times one of the women who is my master check in with me and once took me to an attunement session with family. When I heard the story of Reiki again and I had the opportunity work in the energy of some very powerful healers....

The following year I was attuned to second level, by my master, as a gift... use this to heal, and do good works she offered... I was honored to hold and accept this gift of Reiki...

So for the past few years I have offered friends healing, I have practiced on myself , I have sought a space to offer Reiki at yoga/massage studio's yet the practice is so unknown that people just don't understand or even ask....

I find Reiki to be one of the most powerful energy healing tools there is. I am planning this year to engage my study of Shamanism and Reiki in the next Level of what is considered Mastery. Combining the Shamanic rituals and Reiki energy to be a more conscious instrument of bringing healing to the world around me.
