This is from when I was not yet a teen.

In the dream, I was sitting in a raised courtyard in Dehradun, a town in a HImalayan valley in the home of my great grandparents. It was very real, and my sisters were with me. Some events happened, which I no longer recall, but suddenly I realized I’m dreaming.

And in the dream, I said : ”Arre, yeh to sapna hai!”  Oh! this is [just]  a dream.

The immense power and relief that gave me, is still with me. I had discovered a portal that could bring me back from a nightmare or an uncomfortable situation!

Significant Dreams,
Questions if I dream of one person one real person serveral times in a week, will they too be dreaming of me? I have been dreaming of old people in my life, old friends and relationships. These are people I would not have thought effected me in any special way. One even a doctor I go to but only once a year!!! Whats up with this?? My dreams are short and one doesn't connect to the next, but I am having dreams so that is a new beginning for me. I love to dream!!!

Meenakshi, that sounds like a lucid dream, I can imagine it felt very empowering.

Heartbeat, it may be that the people you dream about each symbolise something to you. You can see if you know exactly what it is they mean to you - then you can interpret these dreams. Sometimes when we dream of someone they also feel a connection with us. There are different kinds of dreams which play different roles in our lives.

About a week ago I dreamt that I was going to die on Saturday. For those who feel alarmed - that was yesterday. This was a very interesting experience and felt like a life initiation. Since some of my dreams have been prophetic, I could not tell if this one was or not as I usually only know for sure on hind sight. I spent the week preparing for death basically. One important thing I learned was that I would actually not do anything very different if I were to find out I was going to die soon. The dream experience has taught me beyond any theory what it means to prepare for death and also how prepared I am for death at this time.

At 1st I felt fear then I moved into acceptance and peace. I was worried that there may be a violent cause for my death and hoped it would be peaceful. But I felt deep inside that when the time came I would be able to deal with whatever the cause was. I also know I have more to learn!

My overall sense is one of awe at the teachings which come from dreams. We can learn in every moment as life brings blessed opportunities. Everything seems an interweaving of teachings or Dharma as it's called in Buddhism

HummingBird, this really is so amazing [and thank you for quickly stopping the alarm that you knew would rise in  your friends as they read this!]

What a wonderful initiation you have received. And by sharing, showed us how we may never know who around us is living with a near certainty - or a possibility - of their own death.
Thank you .

Nicole thank you for being here to share with me.

Meenakshi, I can hear you have understood exactly what I learned - that we do not know what the next moment holds for us.

Friday, Saturday, Sunday, I had to travel for business
and was out of cellular phone range a lot of the time
so I was thinking of you, my love

I called you to assure you and comfort you
and to tell you that you mustn't die before I came home
and certainly not a week before our 1st wedding anniversary!

My traveling companions told me that in African culture
dreams of death mean rebirth
I was glad when I called on Saturday
and heard your voice

Now I am sitting here next to you
warm feet comfortably touching
but I know that whether you are here or not
my love will always be with you

This was a beautiful lesson for us
a teaching on the preciousness of each and every single moment
Whether we are thinking or not thinking about death
each moment has the same quality of sacredness
each moment is truly a moment of both life and death
indeed, the moment cannot exist
if it did not inherently possess both the birth and the death aspect
this experience of the present moment
IS therefore change itself

In our entire life
there is but this one present moment
where change is it's only definable quality
In this present moment
is found every experience of our life
and the experience of our own dying
shall certainly occupy it as surely as this present experience does now

So though Saturday came and went without incidence
Saturday itself is just a convention
In our entire life
there is only one moment
the moment of life
and this dream made you focus your attention
on this present moment
with conscious thoughts of dying

If we can maintain this perspective of death
with such vitality into this present moment
and learn to let go of fear
then this life becomes the most precious gift of all
and our heart opens up infinitely to all beings

Gien, these words written to HummingBird are so powerful, and I'm sure they'll touch all who read them.

The ones that particularly stand out for me, in this deathless moment. are:

each moment is truly a moment of both life and death
indeed, the moment cannot exist
if it did not inherently possess both the birth and the death aspect
this experience of the present moment
IS therefore change itself

Anna, truly an amazing dream and learning experience for you, thank you for sharing so openly - and I am thinking how amazingly loving the universe is in that we all learn what we need to in so many varied ways tailor made for each unique person yet interwoven as a tapestry interlinking with one another.
Gien and Anna, warm wishes to you both for your first anniversary next week,(which day? ) long may you continue to be a treasure for one another and for all. As Gien says we only have this moment and when those we love are physically apart from us, as Gien says the love is still there. Over the years I have learned I can choose to be happy that a loved one is following their own true path in the moment and doing something that gives them joy, rather than sad because we are apart, if we truly love someone, their happiness is paramount and seing them happy, growing and unfolding in each moment is a pleasure.

As you requested Anna adding my dream here.

In my dream I ascended far out in space, looking back on earth feeling a sadness at the plight of earth the wars, the corruption and pollution of our beautiful ferry on the sea of existence… A gentle voice behind me said look up that’s history, and above earth I saw a cosmic egg, as I watched a crack appeared in the egg - a beautiful light poured down from the egg and enveloped the earth. It was a light of love truth and peace - the same light I experienced in an NDE as a child. The funny thing is I very rarlely dream, I was on a reiki course at the time and we were asked to remember our dreams, I had smiled thinking unlikely I will be reporting back to the group, but as it happened I was the only one to tell my dream to the group.
Lagniappe agreed to make the dream into an icon for me as I am not that clever with making computer art. I told him how I felt after the dream, I realised humanity needs to be that light of love truth and peace, one heart at a time. I had to live what I believe, being human that was a tall order, I felt helpless as a newborn baby.in my efforts but when we really apply ourselves and our intention is right the universe guides as a loving parent would with love, tenderness and humour. One moment at a time I am trying to start the ball rolling. Lagniappe added the babies head to the icon which was appropriate to how I felt after the dream. This was a dream I that I will never forget
