Hey Vicki,

I think the Moon can really be tricky as a Focal Planet because it rules emotions, memories, habits etc, and as these things can nudge us unconsciously into reacting from the gut with a knee jerk response, it's easy to find ourselves to easily distracted in our early years when life experiences haven't let us see our more subtle flaws. I think even the most reflective and responsible of spiritual souls will find things they overlooked in teenage meditations that never entered our awareness for all the effort we put to hard work on what we wanted to fix most urgently in ourselves. When I say it was 15-20 yrs. it was more important for quite a while in my early adult yrs. to deal w/ my in-laws more than to overhaul my past responses to a mother I no longer lived near.

I shared this to openly let folks know that if anyone either personally or in your astrological awareness of the charts of others had maternal tension to consider suggesting it might just be a difficult Moon position. Lunar energy difficult in one place has so many other places to focus on easier parts of life governed by Lunar influences to ease tension in rough spots. I no longer feel clouded (perhaps that 4thH Neptune has been mitigated w/ experience) regarding my mom.

Too, There is an aspect I never mentioned that may come into play here. The 4thH Scorpio Neptune Squares 12thH Leo Sun on the Ascendant which then disjuncts 8thH Saturn in Pisces which completes a circuit with a Trine to the starting point of the 4thH Neptune in Scorpio. As I understand these complex planetary positions, the energies are usually mastered with the Square first and then the Quincunx before the full benefit of the Trine is felt. I deeply wanted to enjoy that Saturn Trine Neptune and I think the past growth over the years has made a difference.

      Hello Friends,
How about getting to know yourself and your pathway through life through my esoteric interpretations of the Sun signs, either yours alone or also of those around those? They can help you build better relationships with them, through a greater understanding of their pathway through life, in connection with yours. You can find them all on www.raysofwisdom.com in the section 'Astrological Writings'.
I look forward to meeting you there and would love to hear your comments, if you do go.
With love and light,
Aquarius

Hi Rick,

I also have a highly aspected Moon with lots of squares. I don't recall having the mother frustrations/blame that you describe, but I think that makes a lot of sense. Moon relates to mother, and as the focal point of your T-square you will likely have issues integrating that energy into you life in whatever fashion--whether it's relationship with your mother, balancing your inner motivations, caring for your "inner child", or whatever. For me, I think my focal Moon is more about balancing the inner me with the outer me (my Sun is loosely square my Moon in the T-square also).

Also, Neptune in the 4th is traditionally seen as not seeing your mother clearly, illusions around your home/mother/upbringing. That could also play into how you viewed your mother when younger. I also have this placement, but never really saw it. Each person lives his/her chart differently. I think my Neptune in the 4th is more my grounding/base/security/"home" of metaphysics playing a very important role in my life.

Yes, you do have a very powerful Sun--a final dispositor on your Ascendent as well as your chart ruler!

My strongest planet is definitely Jupiter, which is almost exactly on my Ascendent. Jupiter energies totally rule me from my interest in travel and learning, to my excesses (Saturn peregrine occassionally shows up to add some moderation and discipline--but not often). Since Jupiter is also at the focal point of my T-square, other planets connecting to it also influence me very strongly--specifically Neptune (square Jupiter and my most aspected planet) and probably my Moon, Sun, and Venus (my sole dispositor), but I'm much more aware of my Jupiter and Neptune influences on a daily basis.

Thanks for the chart chat possibility, Rick.

Hello Vicki,

It's so great to exchange ideas with others who are as familiar with the stars so we can each share thoughts on the same wavelength. I immersed myself in all that was available to me very early on and was considerably blessed in that my G_dmother had been an experienced hypnotist, astrology buff and student of the mind for years before I came along. As a person of Native American and Irish descent she was very connected with the mystical and other worldly. Her materials were a tremendous springboard for me.

Too, I absolutely do find a deep internal connection in my soul to G_d through an internal mechanism of a mystical quality. I've never needed to work hard to feel/be connected to others to experience the peace that passes understanding. Alternately I've always found my associations with others deeply rewarding so that I tend to find peace or at least look for it in "whatever state I'm in." Prayer has always been important to me as well as acknowledging my personal understanding of G_d and sharing the benefits with others although sometimes that seems most often to simply be through a quiet presence along someone going through difficulty because I long ago learned the value of silence and silent companionship. My most precious old friend who indelibly made a mark of importance in my soul's memory was someone who equally appreciated our subtle silent communication. We could walk for a couple hours when troubled with a personal problem, the both of us silent, and felt such a kinship that we felt the problem was half resolved before the first words were ever uttered between us. For myself having seen that some refer to the Sagittarius moon as a monk moon I wonder if that might reflect some of the source of my contributions of that sort. It was like something one might imagine of St. John of the Cross and Theresa of Avila to have experienced. Coincidentally, I'm also Hispanic and fond of the Hispanic idealism as displayed by Miguel de Cervantes' Don Quixote.

Regarding your question on the strongest energies felt that is a fascinating query. I've come to be intrigued by the concept of the enneagram and have found research connecting the 9 types to all the planets after and excluding the Sun. Over the years I've found myself at different points reflecting different aspects of myself moving for a season through several different types. I would say that having been familiar with meditation and my chart in excess of 25 years that more than a particular planet, I feel more strongly defined by the energies of the patterns that are formed because I'm keenly aware of the composite of the parts as a whole so easily. Too, my Ascendant 12th house Sun is also square my 4th house Scorpio Neptune strongly connecting me to meditations and dreams.

In the early years before I understood these things I believe that tensions with my Moon as the focal might possibly have been projected as having a problem with my mother. In times of stress when she gets involved it's always been so easy to point to her contributions but for the past 15-20 years I've come to see those elements of outward blame as my way of acknowledging the difficulty of the T-square focal. Perhaps this is a clumsy description but I would like to know if anyone else with a strongly aspected Moon ever felt the tension within the maternal relationship. Anyone?

I think to pick one planet is difficult. Saturn and Jupiter along with Chiron are all nearly equal in elevation. I can be hard on myself, generous to a fault with others and always looking to see how healing can be secured. Perhaps the meditative qualities of the 12th house Sun connect my soul with my outward personality as it conjuncts the Ascendant creating its own energy as strongest being the Final Dispositor as well as the Chart & Ascendant Ruler. It seems to act as its own focal point of a sort.

Does this make sense to anyone or seem sensible?

Sorry So Long,

Cheerfully,

~Rick

      Hi Rick,

Thanks for sharing your reflections on your chart. We actually have quite a bit in common: Firey Moon at the focal point of our T-square, Leo rising, Saturn in 8th, etc. It seems you have a good grasp on how your chart plays out in your life.

A few comments: One thing I've noticed, for everyone I know who has Sun in the 12th, religion plays a very important part in his/her life. And, for your interests in Bible studies, world religions, and prayer, I'd say that follows the pattern as well. That along with your 8th house Saturn in Pisces and Neptune in Scorpio (two Neptune/Pluto connections, plus your sextile) in the 4th suggests religion/spirituality as an important force for you (maybe a regenerative force due to the connection with Pluto). Plus your chart ruler/soul purpose indicator, the Sun, is in the 12th house of religion/spirituality.

Chiron as your most aspected planet/celestial body--that does seem like it could give you a talent for compassion and healing. This through your experiences--good and bad, learning from your challenges, and inspiring others through the wisdom you gain from those challenges.

Which planetary energy(ies) do you normally feel the strongest--Chiron, due to it being your most aspected; Sun, your sole dispositor on your Ascendent; Moon as the focal point of your T-square; all of the above; or another?

Hello All,

This is my first response of a considerable degree of self-disclosure so be easy with me. I'm seldom this quick to share. I also have a T-square w/ my 4th house Sagittarian moon as the focal point. It is square a small Virgo 2nd house stellium of a conjunction of Uranus-Venus & Pluto opposite a Pisces Saturn-Chiron conjunction in the 8th house. To further make this T-square more user friendly I have my 4th House Scorpio Neptune forming a Mystic Triangle as it is trine my 8th house Saturn and weakly sextile my Virgo conjunction (the Virgo planets are at 13 and 14 degrees while Neptune is at 17 but the 3 planet conjunction compensates for the 3-4 degree weakness for a sextile for anyone who cares to know the orbs).

If ever including the angles in large patterns that would also include a different pattern also energizing the Chiron- Saturn conjunction as it is Square my 11th house Jupiter in Gemini with those 2 points each sesqui-square my Nadir Angle of 4 degrees of Scorpio so that would make Thor's Hammer. I have experienced the resilience denoted by that but then it could be strengthened by my 12th house sun in Leo conjunct within one degree of my ascendant while at the same time the Sun is my final dispositor.

I also like my 11th house Jupiter in Gemini trine my 3rd house Mars in Libra. I connect with friends philosophically and seek to find balance in my viewpoints in thinking and writing. Too, I don't even mind my 1st house Mercury being retrograde because while sometimes I might think of the perfect thing to say a bit too late, I also am more likely to reign in my tongue b4 opening my mouth wide enough for a fresh foot.

Someone mentioned 8th house Pisces Saturn lending structure to religion and it can along with adding discipline to mystical practices like creative designing of meditation techniques and Bible Studies. Particularly with Jupiter ascending from the 11th house only 48 degrees from the Mid-heaven and Chiron just 43 degrees past over in the 8th house in square to Jupiter.

I've probably got the strongest fondness for my Chiron aspects. With a wide orb and strengthened by its conjunction to Saturn it is opposite Venus-Uranus & Pluto. It is just nearly biquintile the Sun and more easily the Ascendant. It is biseptile the moon. Chiron is disjunct or quincunx Mars (depending on your preference for the 150 degree aspect). I already mentioned its Trine to Neptune as that mitigates the stress of my T-square as well as how it squares Jupiter. It only seems just now as I write this that it appears to be the most highly aspected point. Perhaps that is what has given me the heart of compassion that always extends itself in prayer for the sake of other's healing.

Hi Guys.... It is a pleasure to be here talking shop with you all! I guess the best introduction I can give in an astrology forum is my chart placements. So here goes.

Western:

Neptune in the 1st.
Mars conjunct Uranus in 12th.
Mercury conjunct Pluto and
Sun conjunct Saturn conjunct Jupiter in the 11th.
Venus conjunct North Node in the 9th.
Pisces Moon in the 4th forming the handle to the bucket.

The major issue for me is channeling sensitivity, the t-square between the moon, Jupiter and focal Neptune. There are other things like the Mars-Uranus energy brewing underneath the surface and the exact Sun-Saturn conjunction which has felt like a life without being able to feel young. But the main thing is finding a way to retain some sense of identity when it feels like its always dissolving. Bless me, I'm doing well! I'm learning how to live in my body, and that the intelligence of the organism itself knows far more about life than does my intellect!

Vedic:

Scorpio lagna, lord of 1st in the 12th.
Pisces janma in the 5th house.
Lord of 9th in the 5th.
Lord of 5th in the 10th.

I have been impressed with the Vedic system, particularly the dasha system of time cycles. When I first discovered these, I could see with perfect clarity the reasons why I'd experienced certain things. I was born in the Jupiter dasa but it only lasted until I was 4 when Saturn became by god for my early life, right up until I was 23. Almost to the day when Saturn moved in, I experienced my parents separation and much emotional and physical trauma which led to fear patterns being created that became a narrow lens by which I looked at life through. When Mercury began in 2003, the transition required a total upheaval and a collapse of old structures. It also marked the time when I could finally liberate myself from my family and ancestral karma enough to start my first long-term intimate relationship. I have done a lot of bonding and healing over these last three years! Mercury is a very different yoga to learn than Saturn. When you have that Saturninan energy first up in life, it becomes difficult to imagine something other than restraint.

Mercury, to me, is the trickster, the playful one that can make connections and "fool" us into relinquishing our attachments to old ideas or stuck ideas about who we are. I am beginning just now to resonate with the energy and blessings of this ingenious and cheeky energy. I am developing my own philosphy based around an ancient form of astrology from Japan. It is a new creation, though it makes use of many traditions. It is fluid and as yet unformed, lending itself to the Hermes/Mercury energy. It is a philsophy that can cultivate the space for miracles, rather like rubbing your soles on the carpet to get a static shock. You are all welcome to participate in this journey........

Soul Seasons: The Nine Palaces of the Soul

btw.... Kati, I have libra sun and sag rising also..... *chink*

Look forward to connecting with you all more and learning together.

Namaste.

James.

      Hi Vicki-

For me Saturn in Pisces has been about depression and suicidal thoughts. Yes, Pisces is very mystical. But Saturn in Pisces as I understand it is one of the most challenging Saturn aspects-with Saturn in Cancer being the most challenging. i have often felt like I was drowning in pain-my own and others. Not fun stuff for me... I look to my 9h and 10th house strengths to counterbalance the Karma of the 3rd house.

My Mom is a Leo and we have a very challenging relationship. My moon aspects are very much a reflection of the worst of my Mother's control issues. My Leo moon has come out in rages-I also have Mars in Leo and Sag rising-lots of fire energy. I am an introvert on the Hermit end of the scale. Being in the limelight is horrible for me. I hated my temper and myself for not being more calm and balanced like my Libra sun expects me to be. I have spent years healing through these aspects in my natal chart.

Thanks for the questions... I hope this makes sense...

Katrina

      Hi Katrina,

Just wondering what bothers you/what you dislike about your Leo Moon. I also have a Leo Moon. I enjoy the creativity and the motivation to be special and stand out that it gives me. Sort of inner magnetism.

How do you experience Saturn in Pisces as challenging? When I think of Saturn in Pisces I think of structured spirituality--a committment to religion perhaps. Pisces could also balance out the constraining energy of Saturn.

Sag sun; Cancer Rising; Taurus Moon

I like my Grand Trine in earth signs, which makes me grounded and applied, accomplished, and able to handle details. But I also like my Sirius Rising, conjunct Uranus, which really creates lots of whirlwind novelty. Also like Venus in the 7th ;))) and Jupiter in the 8th-inheritance.

Am challenged by Mars conjunct Saturn in the third - though it makes me a writing maniac.

Iona

http://ionatopia.50megs.com

My major challenge is also part of what I like about mine: I have a fixed, angular T-square that involves 5-6 planets (depending on your orb allowance) and 3 angles: the Midheaven (career), Nadir (foundation/anchor), and Ascendant (identity/persona). Very strong emphasis on expression (Leo Asc/Moon/Jupiter) and balancing my mainstream, grounded, sensual Taurean side (4 planets and Midheaven) with my metaphysical, dreamy, idealistic, sexual, spiritual Scorpio side (Neptune in Scorpio at Nadir aspecting 5 planets and 3 angles).

I like my Leo Ascendant. If I'm able to express it, it gives me creative, dramatic energy to stand out, be seen, and receive praise (the goal of all Leos). But, to express it, I must work through all the challenges (squares and oppositions) to my Ascendant--what I don't like.

I also like my Aquarian/Piscean 7th house. I seek out and am attreacted to unusual relationships/people. Those that/who are progressive, alternative, and individualistic (Aquarius on the cusp) and those that/who are artistic, spiriitual, and sensitive (Pisces in the majority of the house).

You?
