Greetings, author of Sacred Vow http://sacredvow.dragonsbeard.com/ Welcome to the ever-progressing horizon, where truth is but a resting place until the next revelation.
I am an experienced freelance book editor and book layout person with over 30 years' experience. I have worked with major U.S. publishers and independent authors. What kind of edit do you need, and what schedule do you prefer? I charge $40 an hour, plus the cost of a printout if I print the document out. (Cost is 15 cents per page.) The cost per page varies, of course, depending on the amount of work a manuscript needs. For double-spaced, single-sided printouts with standard margins, I average 5 - 10 pages per hour unless a lot of work is needed. The lower count is for a heavy edit or for a screen edit, as typing is included; the higher count is for a paper edit. If you send me a Word document (or some other compatible program) of a representative chapter of your book, and the length of the ms., I can give you a pretty good estimate of cost to edit. Whatever you decide, I wish you luck in your endeavors. Best to you and yours, Diana Donovan [mailto:diatoday@msn.com] |
