Welcome!  As the admin for this pod I would like to cordially invite anyone with an interest in everything that has to do with means of accessing altered states and realities.  It is not my intention to limit this pod to certain practices but to provide a place for people to relate their personal experiences and brushes with methods for “transcendence.”  Here, I mean to include powerful means such as working with sacred plant teachers, sitting meditation, holotropic breathwork, trance dancing, shamanic work, and even such things as alcohol consumption and intimate relationships.  The idea is to explore, share, and compare our experiences to come to a greater understanding of what they can be like, any potential dangers or concerns, and for general knowledge.  I encourage candid accounts and legitimate concerns.

When I was taking l-glutamine and DMAE I was having unusually long, vivid, and coherent dreams. Not exactly lucid dreaming, but definitely a dream effect.

I would say it was the DMAE that was causing it, because l-glutamine by itself doesn't have the same effect. But, this is just anecdotal evidence - I never did any seriosu study of it.

I haven't bought DMAE for many years - when I did I was buying it at one of the GNC stores, and maybe it is still available there. You have to be able to get it on the net somewhere.

This was during that period in the late eighties and early nineties when intelligence increasing nutrients and chemicals were all the rage.

Supposedly an acetylcholine precursor, (actually a choline precursor)  that made it possible for the brain to make all the acetylcholine it could use.
