Silent Temple Awakening

Silent Temple said Jan 1, 2008, 12:03 AM:

My awakening happen at the age of six.

Failing miserably in school and not seeing any purpose to it whatsoever, I was one day walking along a path in a field to go to that hell realm. Not happy whatsoever or understanding anything in particular, I was drawn to the deep grasses in the field and lied down in it. Suddenly, I was penetrated by bliss and I could feel everything good somehow reaching into me … just as the sun was penetrating by body. To attempt further explanation would be futile on my part.

My spiritual Ma has said to me that that experience probably kept me out of jail. Although true, I am nevertheless laughing now. And has John has pointed out in the abstract, my awakening was not without years of total loneliness and childhood neglect relative what what I be - burying that experience, as what I be, beneath horrible inner-wounds. But I now know that this awakening, that I would not convey to anyone, sustained me on an implicit level.

Having gone through much inner-healing, there are nevertheless some wounds that never heal. But I have taken those permanent wounds and converted them into compassion and kindness. So, in a sense, even they are healed. Follow me?

And I am so grateful as to be one of those people who have experienced an awakening! I was so lucky!

Yes, how powerful…to convert the deepest wounds into compassion and kindess.

I am appreciating all of your posts on this pod…thank you.

I have experienced several awakenings of some sort.  I call them spiritual awakenings but am reluctant to discuss them publicly.  Perhaps it would be safe to say something here and not be ridiculed or my  have experience scrutiinized and denied by complete strangers, I don't know. .. And it really doesn't matter in the Big Scheme of Things  whether I describe them or not.

Perhaps spiritual experences require spiritual language of some sort, or maybe they are indescribable.  Who  really  wants to know what you experienced??   It's like someone telling you their  lo-o-o-ng dream.  Some  think you dreamed up this “awakening” thing, and the details are boring, just like describing  dreams.

I am not saying I had THE BIG A, but I have been lucky enough to get some sneak peeks. To describe these would be  futile.   But,….If you have one, you will know.  Maybe it's good to be silent about it if you do. Or, only tell your Best Bud.

Oooops, I may have posted this in the wrong place.
Please feel free to move it .  I didn't see all the other posts that started a new thread.
I am not so hot at navigating pods.

Dear Mimi

I dont think you have posted in the wrong place.  Thank you for sharing here/.
Yes there are many sacred experiences that we hold close to our hearts, and not share with others. I for one, believe this.  And dont share everything with others, unless Iam sure it is safe to do so.    In as much as people can hear, they are still conditioned by their own life's experiences  I often see us as glasses of pure water, and even the tiniest piece of dust or whatever  when dropped in, will contaminate the water.   So, when we listen to others, no matter how pure we think we are as listeners, or readers, we are still contaminated by our own conditioning.

I am happy that you have had sacred peak experiences.  May you continue to do so, and only share what you feel you need to.  And I hope that you will be inspired by the others who post here too.

Beannacht

I feel kensho and satori experiences are good to share with people who are interested. :O)

If we have had peak experience(s), we are not just signposts pointing to somethings. From
actual experiences of kensho or satori, we become icons, both pointing to and possessing what we point to.  :O)  This is why we convey both in silence and language..
