  Eric : Guided Guide

My use of the Oracle

Eric said Dec 4, 2006, 7:37 AM:

I throw the Yijing at least once a week.  I have found that through my many spiritual meanderings (through many traditions) the Yijing is always a reliable way to let me know whether I am going in a beneficial direction or not.

I use sticks and have tried Yarrow stalks several times, though I just learned how to preserve them properly so they don't fall apart. I like to keep to tradition.  :)

Has anyone else used Karcher's Total I Ching as a reference book when throwing the oracle?  I find it to be the most inspiring and flexible translation out there.  One of my professors uses a Chinese version that actually has a verse for every possible permutation of the oracle (so, every hexagram with every changing line!!!) and finds it to be very oracle, but my grasp of ancient Chinese language isn't as good as his.  Does anyone else have a translation they really enjoy using?

Hi Eric,

I own a copy of the same book & love it. You should also get in touch with Sentient Being who might be able to share with you some of his experiences with the I Ching.

Namaste,

I use the I Ching to help remind me of what the path is all about!  Sometimes old habit creep into my life and I use the I Ching to help “recenter” my mind.
