New to the Group

I'm not really all that new to Gaia, I have had an account before. I am new to the Taoist Temple and Taoism. I have been studying Feng Shui and learning to redirect my ch'i from sha. My fame, wealth and relationship all have been effected by bad energy - sha. I hope this is a place that I can learn how to make my ch'i flow toa positive out come.

Hello Dana and everyone,

I can relate to George's statement above (hi George). I keep coming home to the Tao despite my path winding all over the place. I'm having a hard time finding resources in my area (Qigong or T'ai Chi, for example) so I do meditation, reading, playing (!), and I practice yoga instead of Qigong or T'ai Chi.

Anyway, anyone may feel free to friend me, etc., and I look forward to learning and sharing in discussions here.

Hi Dana,

I've been a philosopical Taoist for about 34 years. I've studied and experimented with many other philosophies and religions but always came back to Taoism. It's the only one that seems to fit comfortably. Check out this Taoism board for lively discussions of all things Tao:

The fingers move but the mind does not. So vast how could space move? Gazing out, images, sounds and textures arise, change and disappear. Gazing in, mages, sounds, smells, tastes and feelings arise, move and disappear. If I'm not concerned its because I am floating, arising and disappearing in it also. ;-)

Hello. I am new to the temple. I live with my partner of 7+ years on Long Island. Taoism has been an interest of mine since my early Christian upbringing. I am only now starting to apply it's principles in my life. I hope to learn something from the participants of this Pod. Thanks.

New to the pod, but comfortable on Zaadz.

Same story, no one in North America that I've met really seems to give the Tao Te Ching any regard.

Anyway I enjoyed it way more than Confucious, whom many westerners can recognize at least.

Hey everyone! I'm new to Zaadz and new to this forum. I read the Tao of Pooh in 2000 and I have been a Taoist ever since. I'm 29, a student of social work, a volunteer, a mentor,a photographer, recently single again and embarking on new spiritual adventures daily. I have never met another Taoist (except for the one who introduced me to it) and would love to have great conversations with like minded people!

Hey! I'm in the same boat as you! I also discovered the Tao Te Ching about a year and a half ago. People think it's ridiculous, but, I find it very mystical yet simple. It definitely takes somebody with an open mind to understand it. Welcome to Taoism!

Well, I discovered Taoism in high school at home surfing the internet, but, didn't know what the Tao Te Ching. Then later on after I joined the military, about 3 years after I joined I started looking more into it. Then I read an amazing set of companion books called "The Tao of Pooh" and "The Te of Piglet" They really put things into perspective. One doesn't need to be a scholarly type or wealthy or humble or poor to understand the Eternal Tao. Just an open mind which you obviously have if you understand the Tao Te Ching. :)

Anyway, thanks for being here and posting this thread! n_n \/m

In seeking a pod with an emphasis on living the Tao, three hits surfaced. This one was the most populated but so inactive!

I only really have time to give good participation (rather than mere lurking) to a single pod, but I'll give what I can to the one that seems best suited to my interests and talents.

It would be nice if it were here. It seems that, at some point at least, someone put a lot of effort into creating this virtual space. Hope to see more of you soon...
