Depending on the deck? I am not sure I understand for just about every tarot deck the 7th card of the Major Arcana is the Chariot.
I would be interested in knowing what these 'different' decks are for I collect such decks.
In some decks one will find that Strength and Justice are swapped, but that is about the only major difference there is in the cards and their order.
Now there are some decks that change the names of the cards-
ie: world=universe / death=transformation / hierophant=high priest...etc.

I didn't know this tidbit of information. I had never even heard of it before. I had a friend many years ago that did Tarot readings over the phone - she owned one of those 900 numbers and she made a good living from it. She never told me about this so this is interesting to know. In light of what I just said, I have no idea what my card would be.

Thea

You sound determined, Thea! Are you self-teaching? Sometimes it can be easier to have a mentor to guide you through it. The American Tarot Association has a program that hooks you up with a mentor for free, but in return you have to provide free readings to others on the free reading site. It's a nice exchange, and your readings don't go to a questioner until they've been reviewed by your mentor.

Would something like that be helpful?

      Good morning!
How did you calculate your Lifetime card? I do it using numerology with my birthdate, but I have found that not everyone does it that way. Mine is 6, Lovers.
Norreida
www.healthytarot.com

My name is Thea. I've been interested in Tarot for years. About six years ago I had a deck of tarot cards. I tried for a year to get the readings right but just couldn't succeed. I could get half the reading, but the other half just didn't make sense. I eventually gave up and I threw my cards away.

My daughter started doing tarot readings about a year ago, and she said they are easy for her and she suggested that my mind isn't open enough or something; that maybe I don't fully believe in them. This prompted me to try again but with a different deck. I don't remember what my first deck was, but I do know they weren't the Universal Rider Waite cards, which is what I have now. I purchased them a few weeks ago at Amazon.

I hope I can use this group to discover what the trouble is with my tarot readings and learn them once and for all.

Thea

Hi there,
forgive me for not responding to this sooner! I was just looking at this post that you made and thought I'd share my view on the 8 of Trumps - using my Thoth Deck ...
VIII - ADJUSTMENT / JUDGMENT

LAW, TRUTH & JUSTICE - Ruler for the Balance. Making continuous modifications and sacrifices to remain at a balance within relationships which are very important to you. Must make a change or changes in your life to maintain a healthy balance.
The challenge in life is that he/she sometimes forgets to listen and is always trying to do for everyone. Again, In order to keep things balanced things must be sacrificed. (On my decks card): The fact that she is balancing her feet on the sword highlights the fact that sometimes in order to maintain balance, you might get cut.
Are you being fair to yourself? Are you struggling with a decision?
Advice: Do what's fair and right. Weigh out all of you options, use process of elimination to decide most rational, fair, honest decision. On the scales are the letters symbolizing "ALPHA" and "OMEGA" = beginnings and endings - meaning, whatever is initiated must be ended, completed. A reminder to try harder to finish what you start. There is a yearning for the application of your creative ideas to be used in more tangible, useful ways. ACE of swords = creative mind. The MASK is worn - symbolizing that ultimate guidance comes from within.
Challenge: Doubt, Interference, & Over-giving Patterns.

--Does any of this ring true to yourself? This is what comes from your birthdate as your lifetime card. If there is anything I can do to elaborate please let me know!
Thanks for sharing here in the group!
Blessings,
*ISIS MOON*

      Oh no!
when I added everything I got 1997!
That means I got 26.
That means I got 8.

In my studies 8 is either strength or justice.
What do I do?!

:)

I read what was said in a previous post about 11 and the high priestess, but that doesn't really ring anything in the soul of me. I have always felt a connection to both strength and justice and the number 8.

To me 8 seems like balance, just because of the shape of the Arabic numeral, but so does 11 in the parallelism of the two 1's. Althought, the cards I like name them by VIII and XI. Here, I feel that XI is a balance of two differences and VIII is larger in size.

It's all very odd.
