An exercise in co-creative poetry to open us to Ourselves

SentientFire said Nov 6, 2007, 11:54 AM:

This is an exercise that will help us become more aware of the process of creation through co-creation.  The basic idea is to make a co-creative poem by each of us contributing an aspect to it. Our poem will be created in association with an artwork I have created.  At the end of this exercise the poem we create will become an aspect of the artwork itself, an extension and evolution of something that was initiated by this artwork.  This expresses the idea that it is the process of our creation from which art manifests, and that there really is no real separation between the artwork and the process. It should be a fun and enlightening exercise.

The first step is to tune into the energy associated with the artwork I created by tuning into the artwork below as well as the co-creative poem in development, and through this open up to the deeper aspects of Ourselves through the co-creative experience.  This will open our consciouness to the deeper aspects of the process of creation through a co-creative environment and focus.  The first step is to tune into the artwork below this text.  One way you can quickly tune into the artwork is to ask youself “What is my intention for creating this picture?”.  This will get you out of your mind, because it may seem irrational if you feel you didn't create this picture, but if you sincerly ask yourself this question and allow yourself to answer it you will feel a deeper resonation with it, as this will take you deeper into your own created experience.  Next write down whatever words or phrases come to you, or whatever impressions you experience, even if they seem unassociated with the picture.  Next read the poem that has manifested so far from the perspective that You have written it, feeling whatever emotions, impressions, thoughts, etc that come from reading it.  Then look at what you have written after looking at the artwork from the first part of this exercise, without judgement.  Finally continue the poem by adding either 2 or 4 new lines to it.  You may do this more than once but only once per visit.  The poem will be finished once it reaches a certain number of lines, which I will post once the poem has reached a certain length.

Please copy and paste the developing poem as it is before you add to it, that way each posting will contain a copy of the poem as it developes.
