Whereforth cometh the friendly origins of seeds?

dharmaRN said Nov 22, 2007, 12:01 AM:

How do members know where, or from whom the new seeds are coming? Will we be able to tell the sources of positive and/or negative feedback? It would be nice to be able to discuss both positive and negative feedback on a posting…….I hope that all feedback will show the identities of the seed-senders ( + or - ) as we are adults who choose to be members of a progressive, growth-oriented community, and anonymity can be a barrier to open, truthful, sincere exchange.  Any answers? Thoughts? Ideas?

On another note, I've read some of the postings by fellow members who don't so much like this seed system. My thought is this: just do your thing, baby! If you don't like the seed system, just operate without it…..just as you were doing before. It will all be the same either way!
If we choose to not get caught up in  the seed swap, just keep on zaadz-ing and the seeds will take care of themselves!
If we choose to  find usefulness and meaning in the seeds, just keep on zaadz-ing and the seeds will take care of themselves!

I concur with dharmaRN's question.  I would like to be able to view the seed-producing feedback provided by other Zaadz members, positive and negative.  I would prefer to know who provided the feedback, but can understand that for some the requirement to self-identify when providing negative feedback may make some feel less inclined to provide full, honest feedback.  Perhaps the member providing feedback could mark some option indicating if they'd rather NOT be identified.

Nevertheless, I'd like to know if there's a way to VIEW and read the feedback.
If so, how can I view it?

Zaadz friendships can be struck from conversations that ensue from viewing and responding to feedback.

Any help on this from a Seeds expert?

The way I understand the seed thingie, it isn't about “giving feedback” to another individual - we have comments and email and a shout out wall and lots of pods for that. It's more a way of calling attention to something we liked by giving a simple thumbs-up kind of vote.

And Susan?
There isn't really a “seed swap” - the seeds you give don't become seeds the other person can give out. Here's a really great description of the seed system in it's current form.

It's true, if you don't want to participate you can just let your seed bank fill up and ignore it. But at least consider whether you'd like to call attention to the things you enjoy before you decide to abstain! It really is a kind of fun thing to have at your fingertips.

I want to say something else, although this is already too long, sorry:
I love giving anonymous gifts. I put money in expired parking meters (yes, yes, I know it's illegal to do that in lots of places. Just makes it more fun, like a bank robber in reverse…), leave love notes in the pockets of clothes at stores, hide spare change in spots that only little kids will find. I think an anonymous thumbs up is wonder-full. Why would you want to keep track of every seed?
