If you've got any suggestions for questions we should ask, please let us know! We'd love your ideas for topics that might push people to deeper self-knowledge… but if you want to know everyone's favorite color, feel free to suggest that, too :)

1. What is your favorite color? Why?

2. What would you do if given a chance to be a president of the USA?

3. What would you do if given a chance to be a president of the borderless and
ID document-less world for one day? (asked by ~princess~ at the age of 9 on this link ^.^)

Children's Books on Mind over Matter

Traveler said Nov 28, 2007, 7:03 AM:

Last week my 11-year-old nephew was perusing one of my bookcases and asked if he could borrow “Powers of Mind.”  I told him the style in which it was written might make it difficult for him to find what he was seeking.  He asked me what I meant, and I told him he would probably need a dictionary beside him while he read.  Frustrated, he said,  “Hasn't anybody written it for kids?”

So that is my question to all of you.  Do you know of any books that specifically deals with this subject in a language an 11-year-old can process?

He wants to know if there is a book that can teach him:

1.  How not to believe in illness when there's so much around; what to do when you get sick; how to help your friends when they get sick
2.  When others are being mean how to not react to in anger or hurt feelings.

3.  How to think for yourself without feeling you are betraying authority figures when they tell you what you should believe.

Any help you can give me would be welcomed!

This is not exactly what he's looking for, but i think an eleven year old could probably understand it

http://www.michaelsharp.org/thegreatawakening_ebook.pdf

it's a basic spirituality book and cover the nature of the body and mind, basic spiritual technique, and basic right thinking. Your nephew sounds bright so I'm guessing he coudl extrapolate from here.  The book homepage is here

http://www.michaelsharp.org/Ascension-Awakening/The-Lightning-Path/Spirituality-101/

and the full pdf is free (and relatively short)

there's also this book (Vayda Jayne Bean) which is about a child's inner divinity. The pdf is also a free download.

http://crystalchildrenbooks.com/Vayda%20Jane%20Bean

I'd also recommend The Book of Light

http://www.michaelsharp.org/Spiritual-Books/Cosmology-Theology-Consciousness/The-Nature-of-God-and-Creation/

sounds intimidating, but my eleven year old was able to read it without much difficulty and only a handful of questions. The book of light can actually provide the foundation upon which

all of these I thing could help give someone the foundation that would allow them to develop the knowledge they need to deal with illness, anger, and authority.

Hi - I'm not sure if this is exactly what you're looking for either, but the Sara books from Abraham-Hicks are written for kids and are a great introduction to the basics of the Law of Attraction.

They'd be perfect for a boy or girl of that age. Frankly I enjoyed them and I'm 39. Here's the link to the first one:

Share a night dream you remember vividly.

Food is life - tell about a meal with a life affirming impact for you.

When your mind wanders, where does it go?

Tell about an experience where you were completely surprised and caught off guard.

Talk about a person famous enough that they intrigue you without knowing them personally, living or dead.

If three wishes could be granted in your personal life right now, what would they be and why?

  1. Peace - Its all very ridiculous in this day an age its not already present…the world just needs to grow up and stop behaving like a bad child! There's no need for military aggression, there's no reason for division other that greed - Why don't the USA give back the trillions of dollars they stole from Iraq, instead of cushioning their own lives, are more 9/11s really the answer?
  2. Defense - we don't really have any - the planet's wide open?
  3. End of Capitalism - its slowing us down, carrot and stick mentality worked in the dark ages, but, we are all too advanced now and the world would progress tens quicker without it!
If you could change one thing in your community (totally change this one thing!), what would it be and why?

The end of all abuse, by ending capitalism, we end all abuse…its that simple! I would replace it with welfare, well-being, and quality of existence benchmarks, for the collective community of the human race. Everyone in their own lifetime be given the opportunity to self realize to a wider understanding of one race and have the opportunity to discover their own spirituality.

Would you live on another planet?

Yes!

When your mind wonders, where does it go?

Into the future…the planet of homo-sapiens are at Peace, we no longer invest peoples time in the mundane necessities of economics, we are no longer controlled by its short coming and its inability to solve problems effectively. Instead we reuse all the positive elements of commercialization to organize the needs of the whole community collectively. That is, we share the fruits of the earth collectively, all humans are treated equally and a child in Africa, India, S,America, Russia, China (all such places) is as important as a child of the president's, all known knowledge and problems are fed into the collective race, identity  of the self, self realization, collective identity and realization and spiritual diversity of the whole is absorbed to instigate the collective brain of human intellect towards the greater good of all living creation in the universe. We all share a collective identity as the human race towards progress and everyone is given homes, food, clothing, transport, community prerequisites of establishment and integration. Development of the human potential is integrated into the collective and communal aspects of life. The collective feeds the chain of development through the knowledge and production center's around the world, but, is tied into the status and progress of its purpose and effect. Everyone is involved with life on the planet and off the planet, to increase our knowledge awareness of the larger world of the universe. We make Peace with new species in distant galaxies and make new homes and defenses on other planets, we attain unlimited fuel supplies and nurture the planets eco-system back to health. The focus is on well-being, welfare, development, progress, achievement, truth, justice, liberty, equality, the new civilization of the human race not the past divisions of independent nationalistic warfare of greed and internal corruptions. Instead of development taking 50 years we start to achieve our targets in 1 year, because the collective gene pool of information accelerates development and the sustainable communities are involved, but, not draining the lifeblood out of the system like it is now. Anyway thats somewhere near where my head goes to escape reality!

You have one magic talisman in your pocket. What is it and what does it mean to you?

In todays world the talisman would be a credit card with unlimited credit, to wipe out all debts, sufferings and abuse in the world. In the future the concept of money is deemed unproductive so it would probably be something more significant like a tele-port key, a star-chart compass, a universal translator, a personal shield, an alethiometer or an amber spyglass.

Panwithin said Feb 15, 2008, 1:38 PM:

A few questions, some political, some psychological:

- Do you know what freedom is? Or is your definition given to you by others?
Freedom is a concept of universal integration of the species when applied to the collective race, or, a personal sense of fulfillment in ones own pre-concept of the term. Application of the term to a nations identity is counter productive to the collective application.

- Why are there such extremes between poor and rich in the world?
Capitalism, the board-game reality of the civilizations legitimacy to protection of ownership of continents in the World! It's a blast - buy nukes invent money and control.
- Is it true, that world famine would stop, if all obese American would start a thorough diet?
No, to stop famine and poverty we have to integrate all the races of the World into one Race - the Human Race and start managing that instead of playing the game-board reality of world domination…at the moment the Americans are winning…great show - well done you win.
- Is it true that in America more lives are lost because of poor education and bad health-care every day, then in the entire Iraq conflict?
Probably, I only have experience of some domestic abuse victim's. One such woman in Washington, as been prostituted out since being a child to the men from her church, since, as a suffer of 'DID' her mother claims she has no soul, therefore the men are committing no sin, because God cannot see her, in her communities eyes she is bad born and worthless. She was married off to the local butcher for the purpose of producing boys, which she did, he keeps her on a chain, breaks her ribs every now and again and refuses her medical treatment until she passes out. The community covet their abuse, including police and health-care authorities. God bless America.
- Do you know what habit's you have, and people have become to accept to be 'you', even if they don't like them?
I have no sense where money is concerned for sure! My last partner fleeced me of two properties, got £100,000 worth of work done on her property and left me with the debts for her car, piano's and credit cards in my name. Cool a true capitalist. Since Christmas i've spent nearly £20,000 on my two remaining credit cards keeping prostitutes off the streets while trying to get them of drugs…I should be going to prison soon since the finance companies are closing the net, with fraud allegations. Cool. I may just look for other options out of my life habits, if I have enough money left!
- Do you look up, at the clouds and trees, at the buildings, and at the ants in the grass?
Yes, I look past the superficial exterior of life into the abyss of sin, chaos and wonder if hell on earth is true to the existence we experience.
- Do you know how great it is to be alive?
Yes and No. All things have a beginning and an end the in-between is what you make of it, at who's cost I don't know!
- Would you kill for love?
Yes, if it was everlasting!

Think of a set of opposites that are prominent tensions in your life – for example, revealing/concealing, autonomy/connectedness, or even something as simple as up/down, left/right, or inside/outside.  Connect a thought or situation with each opposite – for example, “I reveal a lot about my life to my close friends” and “I conceal my imperfections with makeup”.

Now, the challenge: reframe your thinking so that your “opposites” are no longer opposite of one another.

SUNRISE OR SUNSET?

Which do you enjoy more and why?  Is it experiencing the wonder of beginning a new day before you as the sun rises or watching how beautiful the colors are in the quiet evening as the sun sets reflecting on how the day went?

If you had to pick just one to experience forever which would it be?

I am curious in peoples emotional, spiritual and physical beauty attraction of their sunrise/sunset reasons as to which they prefer and what it means to them.  Also manytimes a sunrise or sunset carries a specific memory within oneself.  I also wonder if their preference has anything to do with whether they are a morning bird or a night owl.

I hope I will get some responses :)

I have an idea ! As the questions we ask must be
based on questions we would like to know?
So maybe -when posting individual questions-
we could also answer them personally at the
end of the post.
Then at least we would know what YOU think?

So -what DO you think ?Anyone?

Myself -I think it's a good idea -because I am immediately curious
as to what the postee would answer -!

i enjoy this idea.  here goes, with my question from above:

Think of a set of opposites that are prominent tensions in your life - for example, revealing/concealing, autonomy/connectedness, or even something as simple as up/down, left/right, or inside/outside.  Connect a thought or situation with each opposite - for example, “I reveal a lot about my life to my close friends” and “I conceal my imperfections with makeup”.

Now, the challenge: reframe your thinking so that your “opposites” are no longer opposite of one another.

my set of opposites would be connection/autonomy.  when i am driving, i feel connected with everyone everywhere because, well, roads can essentially take you wherever you'd like.  at the same time, i am often alone in my car and thus isolated from the world.

reframing: both the connectedness and the autonomy of driving are on the same side of the table, pitted against “going nowhere”.

How about, they are driving on the same side of the table, united and going somewhere, with purpose and passion??!!

I, too, enjoy your banter with opposites, it touches at the heart of 2 existences in ONE.

I like to pose the opposites as a level of consciousness.  When you can embrace seeming opposites as having no contradiction, rather as reconciling each other, then you are in the paradox and your perspective is whole, undivided.

The yin/yang was once explained to me by someone deeply engaged in the Chinese acupuncture understandings as the yin becomes so full of its receiving that it spills in a Cosmic flash into the yang of giving, simultaneously, the yang gives so completely to the yin that it reaches a “critical mass” that bursts into the yin.”   It struck me as Beautiful and awesome.

Well, those are not his expect words, by that is the gist of the meaning.  It was an AHHa moment that has never stopped revealing to me.

Again, contradiction is the type of opposites of the ego; they never  resolve into each other because their very nature is to separate and never close the gap of opposition, thus, the ego's energetic dualism is one of “fighting, resisting, opposing”.

Contraast that with the Divine's dualism which is merely an illusion since it can only be ONE, and thus, such dualism is seen  in this form world as paradoxes.  With the proper vista of perception, the seeming contradiction of the opposites are recognized as resolved in each other as a Whole story or idea intact - the never static yin/yang.

Did I do this justice,  or are my words still leaving  this  'wanting'?

All to Love, Sharon

Here are a few more:

- If your life was a picture, what would it be?

- what is your “Theme Song” and why?

- where is the coolest place you have travelled to?

- if you were the Prime Minister of Canada what would you say to the President of the US?

- think of the most “peak experience” you have had and tell us about it.

- when you were five years old, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Hmmm, I am thinking of a few more and will add soon.

namaste,

I'd also like to know what all the zaadzters favorite songs of the moment are.  because I'm feeling musical and I know I will find out about something fantabulous that I haven't heard yet if everyone answers this question now and then.

What do you support? So many of us focus our attention on issues, problems, irritations, and things we wish were changed, because it's easy to see those things, not so easy to live in constant gratefulness of all the things that are perfect, the very things that even allow those “ugly” things to exist. So like Mother Theresa said, “…if you're having a pro-peace rally, give me a call,” what things could you focus your support on that are the opposite side to the things you currently disapprove?

Do we care enough about endangered species?

Our success as a species has despoiled habitats, endangered species, affected the planet. Is it our right to squeeze so many animal/ plant species out of existence?
If it’s not - how do you personally reduce your impact on the environment / nature and the planet. What do you do to give nature a helping hand? Many species are now squeezed into small reserves with global warming species may need to migrate, where to? corridors between reserves are few, for example a tree takes years to migrate north
if temperatures become too uncomfortably hot.

Which would bother you the most: a physical or mental disability?  Why?

Do you care what others think of you?

Have you ever been in love with more than one person at the same time?

Would you ever agree to an “open” relationship?   Why?

If you met someone who was 35 and had never been married or had children, would you think they were weird?

How old were you when you got married?  Would you do it later/earlier?

Do you like being single?  Why or why not?

How many truly happily married people do you know (don't count yourself).

Did you graduate from college?  If you did, do you look down on those who have not? (Be honest!)

You were set up on a blind date. When you meet them, they are of a different race.  Does it matter to you?
