Last week my 11-year-old nephew was perusing one of my bookcases and asked if he could borrow “Powers of Mind.” I told him the style in which it was written might make it difficult for him to find what he was seeking. He asked me what I meant, and I told him he would probably need a dictionary beside him while he read. Frustrated, he said, “Hasn't anybody written it for kids?” So that is my question to all of you. Do you know of any books that specifically deals with this subject in a language an 11-year-old can process?
He wants to know if there is a book that can teach him:
1. How not to believe in illness when there's so much around; what to do when you get sick; how to help your friends when they get sick 2. When others are being mean how to not react to in anger or hurt feelings. 3. How to think for yourself without feeling you are betraying authority figures when they tell you what you should believe.
Any help you can give me would be welcomed! Debra J Meyer (Traveler)
