Women 4 Women Int'l (Sponsor Rec)

Teenie~Dakini said May 3, 2007, 9:02 AM:

Hello Z-wonders!

I've been a Women for Women International supporter for a few years now and I'd love to see them featured in your Sponsor bookmark.

They are a non-profit outreach organization that helps women survivors of war in Kosovo, Iraq, Sudan and now DRC.  In 2006 they received the Hilton Humanitarian Prize which is the largest humanitarian award in the world (selected from 250 nominees each of whom work tirelessly to build a better world).

Can someone contact them?  I'd like to suggest that if finances were a challenge to contact me and I could see what I could do to cover the ad costs.  I simply think that they are a perfect fit (friend, partner, sponsor) in the Zaadzphere…

With bodhisattvic intention and engagement,
~ Stacy

Stacey: I know I replied to you already, but I wanted to leave a note here, too. Thank you so much for the recommendation, and we'll definitely look into Women for Women. (And you know, I'd forgotten to thank you personally in my earlier message–I'd never heard of W4W and so I'm grateful that you mentioned it here. They've found a new supporter. :)

Stacy,

Thank you for thinking about humanitarian organisation. I am also impressed that you have been their supporters.

I get so much conserned when it comes to support of Humanitarian organisation. You mentioned of Sudan when Women 4 Women int'l works. Sudan is my neigbouring country in the north. If every one knew what is taking place in Darfur Sudan would have a reason to support humanitarian organisation and raising their voice and taking action on crimes committed against Humanity.

In Uganda, were i live Sudan government was barking the LRA that terrorised nothern Uganda for more than two decades in what is commonly known as the Gulu crisis with Night commutters.

Their are other problems affecting the developing world, disease, extreme poverty, wide spread corruption, illiteracy, under development, political repression, marginalisation, civil violance and HIV/AIDS continue to undermine the enjoyment of human rights in many parts of Africa. The question is can't something be done?

Think the would needs to work together as the world becomes a global village that is enjoyed and celebrated mainly in business expansion let us use the same opportunity to care and support for people the developing world.

I founded a NGO in Uganda to respond to the plight of HIV/AIDS impacting to about 2 million children. These has also led to the gross abuse children. my organisation Joy for children Uganda is advocating for children's rights in the areas of health, Education, Food and nutrition and child protection and development.

Its my humble plea, that the think tank starts thinking seriously the issues affecting people in developing world which also happens to be war torn.

Siona Love!

I'm glad I could connect you to W4W ….. one down, millions to go ;-D

May our individual movement catalyze greater actions from the Many, and may the women of war torn countries get the attention, care and protection that they deserve.

With deepest commitment,
~ Stacy

Moses!

It is I/ we who are thanking YOU for being in the heart of the suffering and silence and taking incredible action (which comes about from tiny actions) to help our loved ones in Africa.

You say:  “Think the would needs to work together as the world becomes a global village that is enjoyed and celebrated…”

I respond:  We ARE a global village and it is time that this realization becomes the mindset and engine of action

My commitment is selfish….. so that I can in some way have an integrity and peace inside as I drift asleep safely each night, with my daughters healthy and protected, grateful with bounty and opportunity all around me.

Not so with the women of Darfur…..
their brave voices breaking the silence and telling of their horror that happens as night falls…. (my heartbeat is elevated/ racing as I write this)  They do not have the simplest right to fall asleep together safely, protected…. Nightfall/ sleep is their enemy, a time to fear, a potentiality of unimaginable horror….

So the moment I heard of these stories, I committed to each and every woman, child, man and family, that I would do what I could (however tiny) to keep their voice alive.  My safe and welcomed sleep serves as a reminder that I am fortunate and I re-commit to use my waking hours, in some fashion, to help those who suffer as the light of time turns.

Heartfully,
Stacy

Hi Stacy,

Do you have a contact at Women 4 Women?  I will give them a free 125 x 125 pixel logo ad on my website if they contact me with the artwork.  I checked out their website and they look like a wonderful organization that should be spotlighted.

Best wishes,

Michelle
