Hello. My name is John and I'm a relative newcomer to Gaia. I am pasting a brief profile below to give you some idea of what I'm involved in.
Each week I do a one hour radio interview program called Voices From the North that is simultaneously carried on cable TV. I interview people from all walks of life. I love to have people who present perspectives that are not ordiarily covered well by mainstream media. I've had Baha'i's, Buddhists, Christians, Hindus and people with other beliefs on the show. Mainstream doctors who are switching on to alternative approaches to autism treatment have spoken together with homeopaths, naturopaths and Alexander practitioners. Everyone has a unique story to share and we learn from each other's stories.
I am absolutely passionate about the need for us to use the media to speak peacefully and clearly about natural ways of living; natural ways that don't harm our fellow humans or any of the other beings residing on this beautiful planet.
My book In Search of Simplicity is about to be published. I want to speak on the radio as a means of making the public aware of the book. Any suggestions of radio stations or programs that any of you know of would be appreciated.
Here is my profile:
My name is John and I live with my family in New Zealand's lightly populated and beautiful subtropical Far North. I was born in Niagara Falls, Ontario. I've lived in The Netherlands (twice), Saudi Arabia, Australia, New Mexico and Arizona, together with my first 25 years in Ontario, Canada. I met my beautiful Dutch wife Lucia in India during an 11 month period in the Himalayas. I write and sing songs of peace and I'm about to publish my first book, In Search of Simplicity: A True Story that Changes Lives. I do a popular weekly one hour interview programme that is simultaneously carried on cable television. I teach nutrition and help coordinate a complementary therapies course at our local community college.
We live by the beach in a magnificent place called Coopers Beach; so swimming and playing in the sea happens in the warmest seasons. We have a large organic vegetable garden that provides a significant portion of our mostly raw vegetarian diet.
We are regular attendees of our local Ceili dances which are great community bonding events.
I'm impressed with the Gaia Site and I look forward to sharing and contributing in the course of time.
Perhaps the most important thing I'd like to share is that I'm part of a growing global community of people that KNOW that world peace is inevitable, it's just a matter of time.
Love and blessings to you all, John
