MFA on Zaadz member The Abstract Sound is finally releasing the yoga album Jay has promised us for months! A Gaia member since February 2007, The Abstract Sound spent the past several years focusing on Jay's desire to create an album for yoga and meditation that moves with the breath and responds to the natural ebb and flow of yoga without distracting from the practice itself. For the month of October, The Abstract Sound will offer over twenty minutes of FREE music to MFA on Zaadz members!

From the ambient ringing of suspended oxygen tanks and the traditional rhythms of Indian tabla to the warm washes of electric guitars and analog keyboards, The Abstract Sound creates a truly unique musical experience for the yoga practitioner and listener alike. The new album, Music for Space Travel, is an organic combination of improvisation, composition, rhythmic loops and sonic effects created with live acoustic and electric instruments.

Many of you may be familiar with The Abstract Sound's blogs regarding music, spirituality, and life in general. On several occasions Jay discussed his goal to create an album that energizes yoga practice without distraction and yet provides the deep listener with repeated moments of discovery through its hidden structures and motifs that float in and out of the sonic ether. We are thrilled to see that The Abstract Sound has achieved this goal.

At every stage of the creative process The Abstract Sound included yoga instructors and practitioners from across the country, seeking their input on the timing, tempo, and mood of the album. During the editing and mixing process Music for Space Travel was tested in both Hatha and Kripalu yoga classes. The organic and continuous flow of Music for Space Travel is the result of this collaboration and experimentation.

For the month of October, The Abstract Sound offers 3 free tracks of over 20 minutes of music for Gaia members through The Abstract Sound's Gaia page and at their website, theabstractsound.com. Simply select the tracks marked “Free” and follow the instructions. The first track, “Incoming Signals,” was selected to give listeners a taste of the funkier, energetic side of the album. The second track is the conclusion of Music for Space Travel. Thanks for your comments. They are absolutley valid points. Obviously each of us must, in our own time, wake up to a greater reality. A few of us are pioneers. Most of humanity are sheep. I wholeheartedly believe in the importance of the media in helping humanity, including the sheep-like followers, to make the next shift in our evolution.

We live in a world of almost too much information. Many are overly stressed in just keeping up with the information flow. It is difficult for people to determine what is truth from what they read, see and hear. But all industry, the media included, needs to make the shift to a higher consciousness. I'm referring here to something like the Natural Step that was developed in Sweden and that many major companies there like Volvo have adopted.

You state in your profile that "Evolotus serves clients in socially beneficial industries such as health, wellness, spirituality, green technologies, animal welfare, natural foods and personal care products." I believe that all industries have the potential to be benefical. And already today, there are individuals and larger business entities working beneficially within every business segment.

My weekly radio and cable TV interview programme is listened to and watched by people from all walks of life. I like to think that human beings can make informed choices when they hear the 'real' truth often enough. There is a lot of conditioning to break (gently) through, Media can make a difference.

Hi John, I understand your frustration, and there isn't any single good answer to "what do we need to do..."

I also don't think there's a media solution, really. We're more "wired" than ever before, so our access to accurate information is better than ever. A media solution assumes that when people have information they make responsible choices, and let's face it: they don't. At least not always.

I've come to believe that generally speaking my greatest political power is as a consumer. This applies to eating, shopping, driving, healthcare, child-raising, etc. I really don't see any other way than that, outside of evolving into more conscious humans...now "what do we need to do" for THAT to happen??

Yesterday I was told a story of a recent conversation overheard between a doctor and a nurse in our local clinic. The doctor asked if their quota for a particular drug had been reached. The nurse replied in the negative. The doctor then said, "We'd better prescribe that drug to the next ten patients then." Obviously there was an incentive provided by the pharmaceutical company to over-prescribe that drug

We are in the midst of a national political campaign here in New Zealand. Our flawed political system is made abundantly clear when the news is splashed with stories of corporate entities and wealthy individuals making donations to major parties in exchange for political favours.

I recently read an article about a Pittsburgh professor who advocates that children not be allowed to use cell phone because of mounting evidence linking cell phone use to brain development and tumours. Our mainstream media, which most people read, listen to, watch and largely believe, consistently reports research refuting any evidence of the harmfulness of mobile phones. What this same media fails to report is that most of this impartial scientific research is funded, at least in part, by the companies that produce cell phones.

On our local scene I hear of and see developers that grease appropriate pockets in order to get permission to develop land in ways contrary to the greater public and environmental good.

What do we need to do in order to clean up our political, medical and business systems? What do we need to do in order to wake up to the reality of what goes on behind the scenes in these institutions? For too long we have made our doctors, lawyers, business leaders and politicians our gods. I believe we live in times in which each of us is capable of recognizing, revealing and living the Truth. Our conscious media can play a major role in delivering impartial information for people to make truly informed choices. Let's do it.

Hi and welcome to this Global Healing Stewards group! Where do I start? I’ve established “Global Healing Stewards” groups on seven different popular, socially responsible, social networking websites and my hope is that people take the initiative to do the same on other, socially responsible, networking websites. The purpose is to create a space on the Internet for people who are already or are interested in investing some time, effort and intention to bring about Global Healing while having a common and familiar place to collaborate on different websites.

The hope is to identify and create a “large” collaborative environment of which people can identify themselves and others in relation to people who are interested in caringly responding to the need for Global Healing. There are so many Global Healing oriented, socially responsible websites world wide that I thought it useful to introduce such an idea.

With a lot of enthusiasm, excitement and hope, I found myself considering developing an “intentional community” in November, 2005, which was followed by the decision to start with a website, although I had had little such experience at the time. I was hardly familiar with email when I started while the idea has evolved into much greater intentions, culminating into the creation of a socially responsible networking website that facilitates Global Healing. It’s been a fun and healing journey developing these ideas.

The web site is called; Let’s Save the World Together (www.letssavetheworldtogether.org to launch in the fall). The site is being developed in such a way that makes it clear where and how people can contribute to Global Healing based on intentions and ability and availability of work. I’ll share some of the “dynamics” of the site. Basically, it’s an achievement oriented, social networking website being designed to make contributing to Global Healing fun and easy in many different ways. Two ideas are listed below.

“Global Healing Stewards” might be considered “Green Collar Workers” (a fun term I’ve heard a few times), or people who constructively volunteer their time or have nonprofit jobs and already contribute to Global Healing. The intention is that Global Healing Stewards, “responsibly” and/or professionally, organize Global Healing Projects, endeavors and businesses, people who are interested in actively contributing to Global Healing.

“Global Health Stewards” is a group that will be on Let’s Save the World Together.org for people who want to contribute but don’t have the time or something like that. This group will be presented with a long list of socially responsible things they can do to contribute to Global Healing based on setting and/or declaring “intentions” to follow through with socially responsible sustainable living ideas and life styles, such as responsibly recycling, walking to anything within a mile, washing dishes in cold water, using florescent light bulbs and so on…

I’ve created seven simple websites to “model” how other socially responsible websites can contribute too and participate with the “tools” available on Let’s Save the World Together.org. The hub of those seven sites can be found at:
