Having listened to the videos, Rinpoche has the depth-understanding of an intuitive, and he clearly sees the opaque cognitive structures (artificial “intellectual” constructs) that act as impediments to enlightenment and wellbeing - Those opaque structures having been created by developmental arrest.   You know, in Statistics we have various distributions, one being the Normal Distribution. And around the Mean of the Normal is the balk of the observed within one standard deviation of its Mean.   Most of adult humanity lies within one standard deviation of the Mean of the consciousness distribution – occupying what is called Concrete Operations (Jean Piaget) which is a normal part of development but abnormal in adult populations. This is the humanity good Rinpoche is pointing to with its inclinations towards “Spiritual” Materialism.
