The Absence of Tharlam

flowerchildatheart [no longer around] said Jun 15, 8:10 AM:

Just a note to inform those of you who are unaware…

Tharlam will be absent for a period of approximately two weeks, as he has embarked on a fund raising mission for ROKPA:

http://tharlam.gaia.com/blog

He suspects that at the halfway point of his walk, where he will briefly encounter civilization, there may be a cyber cafe where he can access a computer for a short period of time, but he is not sure.

While we will miss him greatly, we wish him many blessings and much success on his mission - as well as peace, health, an abundance of wonder and a wealth of adventure on his trek in the wilderness.  And of course we applaud his cause and effort.

:)

Love to all,
Valerie

Thanks Meenakshi.

I'm not quite as qualified or capable as Dave, but I can try.
I appreciate his trust in me.

At least I can keep up with Daily Dharma!

Feel free to launch any discussions you see fit Meenakshi -
:)

Oh, Valerie. Thank you for sharing this. What a wonderful effort. I'd love to interview him when he gets back; that journey, I'm sure, will be something else.

You're welcome Siona!

It is indeed a wonderful effort on his part.

I'm sure he will have many stories to share from his adventure -
and with his intelligent sense of humor and gifted way with words,
that interview should be very interesting!
:)

Thanks for this lovely thread, Valerie.

AS you are already aware - the journey was cut short due to severe weather conditions, rendering an already trecherous section of the route even more so.  This was not helped by the condition of my feet which worsened with each mile.

The good news is I do have stories to tell and photographs to share.

The BEST news is that 90% or more of the funds raised will still go to Rokpa regardless of the journey ending prematurely.

Many Blessings!

Dave (hobbling to where help is needed).

Sorry to hear the trip was cut short but glad the money will still help Rokpa.

Heal well, my friend! It's good to have you back,

Nicole

You're welcome Dave!

I'm sorry you had such awful weather,
and I hope your feet heal fast!

And I'm happy you are back early,
since you still raised the funds for ROKPA.

Welcome home!

I'm sure we all look forward to your stories and photos!

:)
