Patchwork Economics

Maile said Apr 12, 2006, 9:33 AM:

Yesterday Peter posted a blog entry on what he calls patchwork economics (hope you don't mind me linking to it here, Peter).

He says: “Patchwork economics is what you end up with when you put together a number of “microbusinesses”– none of which, by themselves, have the capacity to support you– which jointly add up to “making a living.” Of sorts, anyway.”

I think this is a great idea, and well in line with the concepts in Your Money or Your Life, at least for me.  And it's something I'm starting to pursue.

I'm wondering, is anyone else making a living this way?  Or do you wish you were?  How do you do it?  How has it made your life simpler?

Hello, Maile!

Steve Pavlina has some suggestions on the lines of  “patchwork economics” on his personal development website - highly recommended! He also has a podcast which can be uploaded from the same place (stevepavlina.com), it's titled “How to make a living without a job”. That guy is a really industrious type and has written lots of interesting stuff. I think you might wanna check him out if you already haven't.
