i recently read the book of john from the bible for the first time. i have always had a hard time reading the bible for one reason or another though i have never really been against it. there is a concept that had occured to me once and reading the bible brings it back into mind. though i know that it is not true of the bible, or at least the one that we know but i had the idea of the multiplicity of possibilities in the story of the bible. there are accounts from various apostles of jesus' work but we only have a few. perhaps once there was or could have been, or could be an account from the perspective of each apostle. twelve books, as i understand each apostle is represenative of a different aspect of reality, could they relate to the signs of the zodiac, the twelve tribes of isreal, some other signifigant twelve? regardless they are like jesus, archetypal figures and each unique of the others. so i wonder what an account of the same story from each would be like. i have been facsinated by the discovery of the gospel of judas, likely a gnostic text, it gave a different perspective than the others as far as i know, i have not read it. i like different perspectives, they dont have to be right or wrong or universially true, because many things in the world do not fall into an either or category. you have to be willing to accept alternate explanations though you may not feel that they are true or your belief. without such an ability true harmony cannot occur you will find yourself at odds with something anywhere you go. |
