  WonderlandAlli : The Chicken Warrior

An interesting one I had

WonderlandAlli said Jul 27, 2007, 1:02 AM:

Happened June 25, yay for storing this stuff in LJ!

I tucked a crow's feather, a two pointed crystal, and the 6 of Swords under my pillow. I dabbed frankincense on my third eye without diluting it first (bad Alli lol) and burned a mix of linden, eye bright, and damiana in my Little Baby Cauldron.

I intended to do some journey work because last night I had a dream about all different planes of existence, trying to move around them, and my sister moving on for reincarnation. But I couldn't remember as much as I wanted to. So I wanted to get back there.

Let's note that if you use as many influences for getting visions as I did, control of the journey might be taken from you…

I started off asking the Crow to take me. There was a lot of flying and trying to get to the island on the 6 of Swords card in the Robin Wood deck. If I tried to influence the journey the bird got offended and took me elsewhere. Unfortunately for some reason I couldn't help myself for interfering.

He took me to Halifax, to a specific afternoon I had walking downtown there where I saw an owl out in daylight being harrassed by crows. Crows do not like owls, and even more so in their hunting time. The owl was young and confused and couldn't find it's way back to the woods it came from. There wasn't any dialogue really except for squawking but the energy swirled around them like a hurricane. In reality that day I had fussed at the crows trying to shoo them before going back to my class. In this journey I climbed up the tree and released the owl. The crows were pleased I went into the tree and released it. Their idea of a natural order had been restored.

Sweating and not feeling comfortable in my own body, I eventually gave into sleep.

Into the dream: I wandered a shopping center and went into a Naturalizer shoe store to try on some cute shoes I saw but they did not fit. I had actually walked to the store, found no employees, took the pair over to a second Naturalizer in the same center and tried them on there, and then they were saying the other store had called to say they were stolen when I had taken them to another store to try on, but they didn't fit and I wasn't stealing them so I gave the shoes to the employee (who was my friend Sara Assayed). Disapointed they didn't fit even though they were my size, I left the mall. It was dark. Two cadillacs pulled up and two shady men in coats with shot guns got out. At first they didn't see me but then they noticed me standing nearby. They were going to shoot at me and I screamed and fled inside the building. Now the building was an ice rink not a mall and there was a wierd balding cowardly fellow fleeing with me, and we skated out into the rink where olympic hopefuls circled around and hid in a closet. The men were looking for us and wouldn't have found us but I was shaking so hard I rattled a bucket and they found us. They took us to their boss, a woman sitting at a table in the food court with tons of long curly black hair, pale skin, a white sweater and white skirt. She started asking all kinds of questions about me, I knew she was judging me. Things about my personality, character, enviromental concerns, etc. She liked me well enough but didn't really like the cowardly guy that had been following me. She let me go and I never saw it but I think she had him destroyed.

Then I woke up.

I was thinking about the woman some more and I think it was me cleaning house emotionally, so to speak. Giving myself tough love.

Thinking more on the crows and the owl… It was a barn owl (not all white, brown with a white face so the face really stands out), both IRL and in the dream. I remember because they have a face like the moon.

The two species do not get along. Maybe it was about setting myself in the right balance spiritually so the owl does not kill the crow? Releasing the owl to go to it's territory so the crows had theirs?

Crow: A reminder that magick is very much alive during the day, not just the night, due due its nightblack feathers being out in the daytime. Crows are seen as sentinals from a myth in which a white crow watches over Apollo's pregnant lover in Delphos. Crows watch out for one another and alert each other of predators, and I've heard of Crows partnering with other animals and cawing out when predators are around. (I think it was deer and I can't remember where I heard that, but I thought it was a cool thing)

“The great horned owl is probably the most deadly enemy of the crow. If an owl comes into the area of a crow it will mob the owl and chase it off. Crows know that if the owl discovers its nests, the night could bright death. Many crows have lost their life to the silent hunts of owls.”

Crows have precognition, anticipating weather and such. So it's also about being on watch, seeing the danger, and anticipating how to handle that danger.

“Wherever crows are there is magic. They are symbols of creation and spiritual strength. They remind us to look for opportunities to create and manifest the magic of life. They are messengers calling to us about the creation and magic that is alive within our world every day and available to us.”

Owl: According to Animal Speak… (in which Ted is quoting Medicine Cards,) “Owl medicine is symbolically associated with clairvoyance, astral projection, and magic, both black and white.” Interesting because almost all my astral and clairvoyant experiences happen at night when I am sleeping… Owls are associated with Athena and represent Wisdom, perhaps the curly cold biatch was Athena making me sort out myself? It did come in the dream after I freed the owl… Barn owls are also called Ghost Owls and represent spirit and ghostly contact. I had never researched owls before but in my mix of Hecate keys on my altar I have on small one whose handle resembles an owl's face, or at least that's what I see looking at it.
“Next is the barn owl. This owl has a heart shaped facial disc which is unique among owls. This reflects the ability to link the heart and the mind. It is part of what this owl teaches. It also has darker eyes. It has golden buff feathering on top, and white feathering beneath.
The common barn owl has a variety of names. When seen at night from below it has a ghostly appearance due to its white feathering. It is this aspect which has earned it the name of Ghost Owl. It is an owl whose medicine can connect you to old haunts and spirits of properties and homes that may still be lingering about. It;s medicine can be used to help develop mediumship and spirit contact.

The barn own is the master hunter. Many farmers have shot at barn owns and tried to replace them with cats. Unfortunately, the farmers often do not realize that 'one pair of nesting barn owls can eliminate more mice per night that ten cats put together.'

It is the barn owl's hearing ability which makes it stand out as a hunter. In fact, a large portion of he barn owl's brain is devoted to sorting out the auditory signals it picks up. It has the ability to use echo location, a kind of sonar, in locating prey. For those with this bird as a totem, the ability to hear the inner voice and even spirit (clairaudience) will definitely begin to develop.

Barn owls are inventive opportunists. They are adaptable and will take food wherever they can find it. Their most common prey is the mouse, and those with barn owl medicine should study the qualities of the mouse as well.”

Clairaudience I had more strongly I think when I was a teenager, then I bitched at the whispers once for distracting me during a test and they silenced themselves quite thoroughly. I haven't heard them in a long time.
