Popularity

thunderbeing [no longer around] said Jun 18, 2006, 10:56 PM:

I thought I would open the Bleep discussions by looking at the popularity of the film. It did fantastically in the US and yet not so good here in Europe. I went to a couple of the pre-screenings here in London so did not go when it opened at selected cinemas (in retrospect, I should have just to support it). But a friend of mine did and she said the cinema was almost empty. I thought it would be jam-packed as it has got some good publicity. For this reason, the film only lasted a few days, and even then it was in only a few independent cinemas. I find this very sad. Maybe they should not have done so many pre-screenings for PR… but then nobody would have known about it.

I think cinemas anyway are old-hat, and that online media is far more important. That way, people not only see the film, but engage in reality creation encouraged by a whole online community.

Greeting all,

What the Bleep is one of my favorite films.  What's funny about the movie to me is that I had never heard of it until one of my friends asked if I had seen it.  She said it gave her a new prospective on life and changed her attitude on why things happened the way they did.  I had not seen any publicity for this film except for Kim telling me about it.  About a week later I went to the video store and there it was, one copy, on a shelf in the back.  Needless to say, I watched it, twice, and it has become one of my all time favorite films.  I told a couple of friends and they watched it and so on.  It's amazing that the film did so well here since most of the publicity seems to have been word of mouth.  I think those people who have seen it are the ones meant to see it.

I agree with the statement that those who watch the film are meant to see it. The latest version actually build the concept into the DVD. Called the Quantum Edition, this six-sided, 3 DVD set has some special branching and randomization options that allow viewers to dive as deep down the rabbit hole as we want to go!

I have a 2 part audio of Will Arntz's teleseminar on What the Bleep and Beyond. Just drop me an email if you want the files. One of them is 9.17mb so please make sure your email account can handle it. Gmail is ok.

Also extremely useful is the Study Guide by the Institute Of Noetic Sciences @ http://www.noetic.org/research/files/Bleep_Study_Guide.pdf

The guide has 5 chapters –

   1. Introduction and How to Use This Guide
   2. Paradigm Shift
   3. Quantum Reality
   4. Creating Our Days
   5. Healing the Past

Each chapter poses relevant questions, and offers a variety of possibilities to consider in response. In addition, there are individual and group activities and practices, pertinent quotations, and additional resources and bibliography.

This post seems too long already so I'll share my story in a a seperate post :-)

Hi Andrew!

I also think that we must go beyond watching the film & into actually co-creating reality. You are also spot on to say that online communities are a great way to start.

Actual face to face communities also offer great inspiration. One of my Spiritual teachers, Ms. Tan Hwee San actually organised a little screening in SIngapore recently & it was during the post film discussions that we learnt most & felt really inspired to further our explorations.

I agree. We have to get on with making our life. However, most people dont know what they are here for and therefore what is appropriate for them to 'make' happen in their lives. Relying on their thiking process leads back to their programmed beliefs ending up with them recreating more material 'things' amd lovers. I believe that before we can effecrtively start co -creating, we need to sort out our past, the beliefs about life that have been bequethed to us from family and society. Once we have made a start on that and located our 'own self' we have a hope of finding our own path and purpose. Creating from that place allows us to fulfill the reason we are here and the place that we hold in the greater scheme of things. Everything is connected. Once we start to make our choices from that space we are in line with the Creator and can create effectively. Without that alignment, we often make more learning curves for ourselves. Thats fine too. But it ain't all head stuff.

As offered, I wish to share how seeing the film immediately touched my life.  I did feel like I was meant to see it just when I did.  I saw it on video and passed the video along to others.

While I was watching the film, I was feeling the presence of a friend who I had not spoken with in a few months.  She called me while I was watching.

I wanted to read more of Dr. Fred Alan Wolf's thoughts.  So, I went to a bookstore that same afternoon and read parts of one of his books.  I put it down and started browsing.  A man joined me in the aisle, I felt his presence but I stayed within my own bubble (I am not one to start up conversations in bookstores).  He turned to me and said that he was looking for a book on the soul and consciousness, had I seen this certain book.

Wow Orchid! Thanks for sharing your story! Syncronistic events are everywhere… we only have to be sensitive enough to recognise… the best thing is that they grow in abundance as we recognise, appreciate & accept them. Every event have a lesson for us & every syncronistic event have a even bigger lesson… ..

I was lucky enough to see it in the theater.  My best friend had heard about it and we went together to see it.  It was one of those wonderful eye opening / kick in the head kind of moments where you just aren't the same after you've seen it.

It was on TV just recently and I watched it again.

I didn't realize the DVD had all sorts of extras and will have to check it out.

I would like to find out how to get a copy on DVD.  I have not seen it but have read a lot about it.  I'll keep tuned in to see how to find it or to buy a copy and view at home.

Hey everyone!

What a great discussion topic. I ran across a copy of the CD while browsing my parents collection. I loved it. And after seeing this pod and reading all of your comments I want to go watch it again!

Has anyone read either of the companion books recently released? I was them at the bookstore the other day but was in pursuit of something else so I didn't check it out.

Peace~

Interestingly it seemed to be very popular here in Dunedin in NZ. I have seen it three times and shown the DVD at a group evening. I have some different ideas about the importance of emotions to the communication to us of our needs, but other than that, it was great to see scientists speaking up for thier spiritual journies. Thanks for the chapters to the book Alex.

Celebrating This Pod's First Month with a Name Extension

I've been thinking about where to post this… I guess the place where the opening thread was posted serve this purpose best :-)

Our pod is one month old! Chinese celebrate this special day with red eggs

To celebrate & mark this day, I've added a prefix to the original name of this pod + a new picture that is more representative of What the Bleep Do We Know!?

Our zPod (Zaadz added some changes too… I'll take it that its in celebration of this special day also ;-) is now Co-Create Reality: What the Bleep Do We Know!? & The Secret

At the time of this post, our zPod have grown to 366 members & is for the time being one of the top 5 most popular pods @ Zaadz!

This would not have been possible without your participation & contribution. Thank you for your Presence & Sharing of Positive Energy. You Are the Reason this zPod came into Being.

This sure inspires me to write more and share more. Hope it inspires you to do the same :-)

Congratulations on the anniversary!  I'm one of the silent pod members who comes and reads quite often, and at the end of all the my reading and processing am too exhausted and pleased to feel the need to post a thing.  Many of you have a much better handle on the subject matter than I.  I don't even quite have the language to express myself here sometimes, but I read it through you all.

Happy one month!  Bring out the eggs!
