This thread will be for extra resources for further study. It is for those of us who wish to go deeper into the rabbit hole. Please share your resources & thoughts ;-)

The Institute of Noetic Science is a great place to start.

& of course Shift in Action too.

One interesting article is Paradox, Breakthrough, and the Zen Koan by John Tarrant

I love What Is Enlightenment? too & Synchronicity Goes to Hollywood by Ross Robertson is interesting.

Flow with Soul by Elizabeth Debold is an interview with Dr. Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi & that's a great read too.

Also remember to try The Prosperity Game & Go Gratitude Experiment!

goodday,
A good friend of mine truned me on to it about 10 yrs ago and I have been delivering the materials to folks for about 6 yrs as an Avatar Master, it is the tools that allow us to create enough free attention to create anything we want, also has a strong component of service to others. We can have everything we want but if we can’t assist others on their path , what is it all about.

I heard that come through on What the bleep, to live our life aligned with a higher purpose that leaves this place a little better off than when we got here.

What am I passionate about …… awakening others to experiencing themselves at their life purpose. Lighting the passion in others. Other things I am passionate about are….

growing our own food as a political and spiritual action……

appreciating everywhere I find myself and every being I come in contact with…..

this is a good exercise, to explore this from a place of feeling the passion inside and placing it on something to be passionate about. It can be anything I decide is passionate.

gratitude for being able to be with people when they awaken to their higher self, their beingness ,or when they handle something in their life they have been stuck in and feel the space created by handling it!!!!! It s a beautiful moment to share…..That’s the Avatar experience, being to being……..that I am passionate about…….

yeah put it on the WTBDWK pod…….let’s share the passion of life….

thanks Joanie

I got this in my Inbox today…

Science's evangelist

JOHN Gribbin, popular writer of the seminal popular science book on quantum physics, In Search of Schrodinger's Cat (1984), has just written his 100th book. Whether from an empirical or literary point of view, this is a pretty significant achievement. When BT catches up with him on the phone at home, in the little English village of Piddinghoe close to the port of New Haven, he is contemplating a picnic in Sussex later in the day when the sun comes out. But for now, he is content to talk of science, books, and yes, that cat.

Conversation, inevitably, begins with the 100th book, The Fellowship (see review below). He demurs modestly that it's not that phenomenal an amount of writing; it's as much, he says, as science journalists might have written over the same time, except that his writing was stuck between hard covers and put on a shelf. However, he does accept it is a rare achievement to have written a 100 books - and puts it down, partly, to the sheer range of subject matter his writing covers, from chaos theory to biographies on scientists like Richard Feynman.

'I am pleased that the 100th anniversary has been marked - mostly by luck - with a book like Fellowship. I think it's a significant book unlike some others I have written, which are more 'disposable'. Some of my books are quite justifiably out of print, such as the one on global warming written 20 years ago, now there is so much more information on the subject. But Fellowship, I hope, will stay in print for a longer time.'

The author trained as an astrophysicist at the University of Cambridge before becoming a full-time science writer, in which capacity he has written for the science journal Nature, Times, the Guardian and the Independent; he is currently a visiting fellow in astronomy at the University of Sussex. Over the years he has written a little science fiction and a lot of factual popular science books, which have earned him commercial and critical recognition.

Gribbin has no regrets about not pursuing a life as a scientist: 'My talent is as a writer who happens to have studied science.' He gained insights into writing his popular science books from his forays into journalism - 'how to keep it fresh and interesting' - and science fiction writing - 'how to develop my skills as a writer'.

'I wrote Schrodinger's Cat to please myself really - eight publishers turned it down before it was picked up. I did study physics but never properly understood quantum ideas, and wanted to know more about it. So I ended up writing the book I wished someone else had written for my benefit.'

Cat, arguably, jump-started a trend in popular science writing and science publishing enjoyed a boom in the 1980s. 'People needed to come to terms with the weirdness of the quantum world and look at its implications. In Newtonian physics everything is predetermined, but you could say quantum and modern science restored the role of free will.' Cat itself is a timeless book, as it tells the history of quantum discoveries in the beginning of the 1980s, and these facts haven't materially changed. However, to discuss the implications of the quantum world, and later developments, Gribbin did come out with Schrodinger's Kittens (1996).

Gribbin picks Cat as his favourite book, but a close second is The Science of Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials, co-written with his wife Mary Gribbin, and aimed at children of around 12 years. 'Mary used to work in education and understands reading ages, how to pitch it to different levels. As for me, when I write, sometimes I'm still writing for myself - or the stereotypical intelligent layman. But mostly it is just a question of writing clearly and entertainingly: I look at the subject in a broader context for people with an interest in knowing what's going on. I provide an overview - I don't feel I have to cover everything about the subject, that's why they are 'popular' science books.'

Gribbin and his wife do most of the research for the books themselves. His wife of 40 years has been a regular co-writer; he adds: 'Mary is involved in all my books, even when her name is not on the cover.'

Though Gribbin made his mark with Cat, over the years, his writing has shown an interest in the people behind the science, and now with Fellowship, in the history of science. 'People want to read about people,' he says simply. He admits: 'I'm quite evangelical in wanting to tell people that science is great, it's so important in the world today. I'm not referring to science as 'truth' in a religious sense; rather it is as an affirmative way of looking at science and its role in the universe.'

He feels there is a climate of disenchantment with science in some circles, thanks to thorny issues like nuclear proliferation and climate change - which makes it even more important that people have access to information, so they can make informed choices.

As conversation winds down, one cannot resist asking if another century is his ultimate writing goal. He laughs and builds on the cricket analogy, likening himself to the batsman who having just scored a century, has to settle down to some more batting, and chip away at it, a little at a time. Gribbin has no real double century ambitions, but thinks he will get a little way towards it.

John Gribbin's books are available in major bookstores

Got this from Will Arntz (Filmmaker - What the BLEEP & Down the Rabbit Hole) today:

Everyone on the planet needs to see this movie. Like it or not.  And you may not - its ”An Inconvenient Truth” (That's the name of the movie).  Why would someone want to spend $$$ to see a film about global warming, when they can go see fiction and drama and cars blowing up?  Maybe because the planet is about to.

I know this is a a bit strong.  But having watched it 2 nights ago, I feel I would be shirking my responsibility as a citizen of this beautiful world by not taking advantage of the opportunity to let people know that this movie is truly important.

There's alot of mis-information generated out there about global warming.  But the evidence for warming is irrefutable.  And the results are catastrophic.  And finally, we can reverse it if we want to.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share this with you.

I don't want to make a fuss about this, but I've heard so much about this move 'An Inconvenient Truth' that i actually (no matter how selfish it might seem) feel sorry for you guys. Global warming is an old, done issue. I made a school report about it when i was twelve for crying out loud. That was seven years ago. As kids of twelve we already knew the effects and its probable causes of the greenhouse effect. We even knew what chemical compounds were responsible for this.
And now, 7 years later. I've learned so much about it. How it was researched, what methodes were used to prove an incline of temperature. And we humans, hardly make a difference (except for chloor fluor carbonhydrates).
If there is anything CO2 is doing for us, it is making the air more smelly, and sunsets more beautiful. (try it, sunsets over industrial areas are much more colourfull.)
And hey, looking at the worlds oi-supply, we will stop exhausting these quantities in about 20 years, cause then, it will all already be gone.
If there is anything that you have to be carefull with it is the imminent bankruptcy of America, which will happen somewhere in the coming 5 years. Nature will suffer the most from such.
Fact is, the world is warming up, and yes we can prevent that, but it will be unethical hard, and worst of all (seen current political systems) expensive.

If you want to save the world, you have to understand it. And this isn't based on your CO2 exhaust. but on your way of life. Your consumption. The more you consume, the more you attribute to the global warming (I'll explain if you want me to)

And fact is, that if every man on earth would live like an american, We would need at least three more Earths, just to suffy to that consumer level. (considering that americans only make up 5 percent of the worlds population…)

I don't want to blame America, that is too easy for something that affects us all, the entire world. But America, and even so worse, upcomming China are the bigger baddies in this global warming.

I hope, I really hope, that the citizens of America realize in time what they are doing. Before their country goes bankrupt, and they can no longer be given, even a chance. Cause you don't have to be afraid of what they tell you on television, you have to be afraid, of what they don't tell you, and haven't told you, in all those years.

Of course, you are free of messaging me, I'll even go through the trouble of finding the scientific articles about it.

With the best of luck,
Ulixes

Its a fairly objective read that give a litle more insight into the Bleep characters. I'm a HUGE fan of the movie and after seeing it, couldn't believe somebody made a movie about what seemed so familiar to me. I could never put my finger on it.

Its does desconstruct  some of the optimism implied by some of the scientists, but rightfully defends others where it should.

Hi all! I just listened to a CD called “An Ancient Magical Prayer” Insights from the Dead Sea Scrolls. It was a dialog between Gregg Braden and Deepak Chopra, M.D. Deepak introduced Gregg Braden as a quantum physicist who is deeply interested in the dead sea scrolls and lost spiritualism. This CD seems to be just a taste of a multi-forum seminar by Deepak Chapra. Braden is introduced and talks about the scrolls and information found in the scrolls such as the complete book by the Prophet Issaiah and information about the Hussaines (sp) who were chroniclers of spiritualism hundreds of years before Christ. He specifically talks about a mode of prayer which quantum physicists are just starting to understand which can give power to heal our bodies and therefore the world. Again it was just a taste and so I am going to buy the books by Braden called The Issaiah Effect and The God Code. looks very interesting..and of course if Deepak Chopra is a sponsor then I am in.

I've been exploring Reiki from the edge for a while now & is finally getting attuned on 27th Sept ;-)

Came across an article as part of my research, Science and the Human Energy Field by James Oschman, Ph.D., has one of the best scientific explanations of not only Reiki, but Energy medicine… or simply Energy in general.

Anyone interested in learning about Energy, Auras & Chakras etc. should read this :-)

Free Consciousness Studies Textbook

Consciousness studies embraces the neuroscience and philosophy of consciousness.

Everyone has their own view of the nature of consciousness based on their education and background. The intention of this book is to expand this view by providing an insight into the various ideas and beliefs on the subject as well as a review of current work in neuroscience. The neuroscientist should find the philosophical discussion interesting because this provides first-person insights into the nature of consciousness and also provides some subtle arguments about why consciousness is not a simple problem. The student of philosophy will find a useful introduction to the subject and information about neuroscience and physics that is difficult to acquire elsewhere.

It is often said that consciousness cannot be defined. This is not true; philosophers have indeed defined it in its own terms. It has two principle components: firstly phenomenal consciousness which consists of our experience with things laid out in space and time, sensations, emotions, thoughts, etc., and secondly access consciousness which is the processes that act on the things in experience.

As will be seen in the following pages, the issue for the scientist and philosopher is to determine the location and form of the things in phenomenal consciousness. Is phenomenal consciousness directly things in the world beyond the body, is it brain activity based on things in the world and internal processes — a sort of virtual reality — or is it some spiritual or other phenomenon?

Dear Alex,

I also found this related article very interesting: SEPTEMBER 21, 2004 LBNL-56363
QUANTUM PHYSICS IN NEUROSCIENCE AND PSYCHOLOGY: A NEUROPHYSICAL MODEL OF MIND/BRAIN INTERACTION Jeffrey M. Schwartz , Henry P. Stapp, Mario Beauregard. To download a copy just google it. It's 71 pages long, but fascinating.

Neuroscience and quantum physics are enormously helpful. My particular bias is being a Kumon math and reading instructor - in other words, I individualize the program for over 200 students to practice worksheets on a daily basis. So consciousness and attention are very important.

It's hard to define the loci of attention and consciousness, to say the least, especially when you take the quantum approach, so much more fluid than the classical approach but so much closer to reality.

Namaste,

Nicole

Wow! Thanks for the journal Nicole!

Downloaded & hope to get to it soon.

Btw, I offer a 9-week Speed Learning Program in SIngapore for students age 9 & above, so I share your bias ;-)

Namaste,

Dear Alex,

Interesting! Is there a weblink that talks about your program? If you're in Singapore, you probably have heard of Kumon…

Namaste,

Nicole

Hi Nicole,

No there is no corporate website for this program… my Zaadz profile page is my corporate website for all my coaching programs ;-)

Brief info is found on my profile page for each program while details are provided only upon request.

All based on the principle of simplicity… just like my other businesses:

Your International Registry of Marriage
&

The Pet Loft

Yes there are many Kumon schools in Singapore :-)
