Women Moving the Edge
We are exploring and moving the edge of consciousness through collective intelligence, and specifically to sense into and to discover if there are ways that we, as woman, can most effectively and consciously do this.  What is now the growing edge for women?  What does collective women's leadership look like?    How can we create a gathering of women who will be called to explore these

Women Moving the Edge 3

Gearing up to go!

Here's an introduction from Lisette…

Lisette Schuitemaker is a linguist by training, an entrepreneur by genetics, a healer by choice and a consciousness developer by calling. Within the Center for Human Emergence NL, she has for the past year been a member of the board and lead-link of the Biceps group that holds the focus for the development of the 'inner muscle'. In 2008, she intends to further explore feminine leadership and how she can better bring this into the mix of how we organise ourselves. Her leading motto is still the one she picked up from Andi & Jag of the Mayan Calendar Code: “We're not in crisis … we're in creation!”

Woohooo! Another cunning linguist! That'll be at least three of us, then… and one with BICEPS. aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's some more: Lisette's question:

“Mmmmmm, yes, there is a question - as I start writing, the tears come to my eyes, tears of feeling disempowered, tears of swallowing what I have to offer as what I say doesn't sound good, somehow, in a man's world and I hold back - I would so love not to hold back anymore, to step into leadership and accept  that yes, sometimes how I see things and want to do things, will cause pain to others and accept accept and have the courage to do it anyway. how can I find my voice, which Ken Wilber quoting Carol Gilligan calls A different voice - how can I be in touch with my inner reality, my authenticity of the moment, my deepest true being and at the same time be fully functioning in the world, aware that I am consuming as I live, not held back by guilt of 'should have done better' or 'should have said earlier' and then adapt to whatever others (often men) decide is good for the world …. is this still a question? it is the reason I followed Anne-Marie Voorhoeve's example of registering, even if it makes me nervous as I know that I am going to go into unknown places that I have cleverly been avoiding …..”

Oh, sister, we are going to have such a BLAST!

And here is an introduction for Lisa Berg and what kinds of questions she is working with as we approach Women Moving the Edge.  Barbara Marx Hubbard's supra-sexual co-creation idea is quite interesting and bold I find.  Check it out.

Lisa Berg

Lisa Berg, President of Global Bridge Productions, is a cross-culturalist, speaker, community convener and visionary. Lisa is passionate about helping people discover new ways of leading beyond boundaries during times of transition that are practical and applicable to real world issues.

Lisa is a global citizen and accomplished international business woman. She brings a wealth of knowledge, a multi-cultural perspective and an international network of experts to Global Bridge Productions.

After living and working in Tokyo Japan for five years as a cross-cultural consultant, Lisa returned to the USA. She founded and owned the North East regional branch of International Professional Relations, a corporate training company specializing in global transition and cross-cultural best practices. Through IPR, Lisa served numerous Fortune 500 companies, helping corporate employees and their families move to a new culture with acute business skills, increased respect for cultures that differed from their own and the ability to collaborate and adjust with ease.

She is the Founder and President Emeritus of International Friends, an international women's organization in the New York Metropolitan area that has provided cultural exchange and support to hundreds of women for over ten years.

In both personal and business experiences Lisa has faced challenges with strength, courage and a joie de vivre that enlivens and brings people together to reveal creative solutions amidst life's most challenging situations.

Lisa has completed Masters Degrees in social work and transpersonal psychology, and has been a featured speaker and published author on various cross-cultural and human potential issues in the United States, Japan and Brazil.

It is with great pleasure that Lisa combines all her skills with the talents of her international colleagues to create Expanded LeadershipTM programs.

Lisa's Question(s)

I  have been thinking about my question for WMTE. Here are some things that are inspiring me today.

This one minute video came from IONS today. I am not a fan of one minute videos as I find them terribly superficial (even though I am American and we like the short version of things)  This concept of supra sexual co-creation sounds intriguing, however. So I went on Barbara Marx Hubbard's website to find out more. Has anyone heard more about this? Perhaps it is part of her DVD series.

Although I didn't find out more about supra-sexual cocreation , I did find the following very inspiring audio on conscious evolution where Barbara speaks of many topics including being at the threshold of becoming universal humans and what that means… I share both with you and look forward to exploring some of this with you if that seems right when we meet.

Nina Williams-Thompson shares her thinking and questions as she approaches Women Moving the Edge.

A Question:

Is there a deeply held question, something you are seeking to better understand as we come together?  A direction for you, your work, or for us as a collective or women?  If so, please share that here.

I was just reading your Skype call - Ria, Helen & Judy. These 2 thoughts of jumped out:

I saw how there came a split in women and womanhood, where some women stuck to the inner feminine core and others went more with the masculine, and were willing to go there - so there was a split in women - these two types. A lot of competition between women is probably related to that.”

“I'm there because I sense I need to be there. I go there with my eyes closed, I go to learn something. I don't know what.”

I'd like to explore that split in women - it feels like the elephant on the table that we always pretend not to see. An area of “charge” (subconscious baggage) which is usually also a sign of huge potential learning too.

Was it was a stage during which we branched out to acquire different skills and awareness of the masculine way of functioning that we can bring back…?  To serve at a more integrated stage (of development)…? I have the masculine pretty strong in me - such an imperative need (like an evolutionary drive!) to go out and stand on my own 2 feet, for example - but I don't know why, and I have the feminine too, but somehow I have less confidence in it, even though I revel in the magic of being a woman, and in pregnancy, birth and motherhood, so I'm curious about this.

And otherwise I'm coming because it feels right and I just want to be in that space, connecting with the buzz of “awakeness” in everyone, and in the place, and see what happens in the group and in me.

Here is Maria!

Maria Scordialos a co-guardian and co-host of Axaldtisa Avatakia, a place of learning in Pelion, Greece.  Maria is an experienced process designer and dialogue host, working with the principles of self-organisation and participation in order to create the conditions where both individual and collective learning and discovery can emerge.  Maria has worked in strategic management positions and since 2000 has co-created learning opportunities with individuals, organizations and communities in Europe, North America and the Middle East.

Key Question - What is the connection between the power of place, self and community?

And Here is Sarah

Sarah Whiteley is a co-initiator of Axladitsa-Avatakia.  Sarah offers a combination of skills gained from her diverse experience working as an outdoor educator, higher education lecturer, Royal Naval Officer and process host.  Her inspiration for designing and hosting is rooted in her love of nature and the ‘inner filed', teaching the art of self-organising.

Key Question:  What is really going on and What if it is easy?

Contemplating the idea of 'place':
physical

It Appears History of Place Matters
“Physical Place” has “memory residue” specific to its history.  For example, when I moved to Bethlehem, CT I was disturbed by one house every time I drove by.  When I inquired, I learned it had once been a funeral home.

Another time when touring an open house, I stepped into the living area and recoiled at the 'memory' of violence and death. They asked the owner who said that five years earlier, a shooting suicide occurred in that room.

When my father visited a Civil War battle site, he was over come and fell to his knees.

These anecdotes suggest that the history of a physical place will impact our psyche in the present.

It Appears Geology of a Physical Place Matters
Geography and geology impact collective and individuals not only from visual effects like beauty or barrenness, vistas or light levels, but also from sensitivity to flora and fauna, weather, atmospheric pressures, temperatures.  Subtler energy fields respond to life forms (large trees), buildings,  underground formations (quartz crystal or subways) and movements (water).  Electrical fields around the body or group can be charged or smoothed, distrubed or enhanced, especially by the ocean.

But then again…  Physical Place Doesn't Matter
When “this place” is “all place”,
When “no place” is “everywhere”
When “my place” is “your place”,
then…we move beyond the reactive sense-self to a new relationship with 'place'.

Even though we may respond to 'physical place' with preference, even though physcial place may have non physical implications, even though support by surroundings with good feng shui is a delight, …

Think… “Timeless”,  “Choiceless”, “Placeless”.

Does our true nature depend on physical place?

What happens when we are less susceptible to the influences of  external place?

From the moving edge of consciousness, what is 'place'

Perspective makes a difference.
