As many of you may know, Thomas Mosbø is the author of the book “Yes - But What Does It Mean?” (now out of print). His diagrams of Yes's major epics are extremely well done. With his valuable CD time display markings I've enjoyed following along with his well-researched diagrams of my favorite music. Just as much fun, if not more so, was being lead through Yes's material in my own mind. They are like Yes-maps. One piece that was very inspiring for me was The Gates of Delirium. This diagram helped me to connect the dots and have more of an understanding to a piece of music that has always been an emotional roller coaster to me. I could see how this kind of diagram could, perhaps, be even more helpful by hearing it at the same time the music is being performed. Therefore I made a CD that includes the music of Gates and my voice speaking Thomas Mosbø's diagrams. To be more accurate, it is about 85% T. Mosbø and 15% of my own interpretation and inspiration. If you would like a copy of this Gates of Delirium Voice-Over Diagram CD I made, I will send it to you for free. Just go to my page, email me, tell me where to send it, and I'll pop it in the mail. (I, of course, purchased The Gates of Delirium years ago (ok decades), I have asked Thomas Mosbø's permission, it is my voice, I'm giving it away at no cost, therefore I do not see any copyright problems. If I've missed something, please let me know.) Your Sound Chaser, Mark |
