We've found the tips shared here to help not only online on Gaia but also in our off-line communications!
How do I find the tips? Click on any room and see the sticky posts. They're like our 'heirloom seeds', the threads that never expire. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is not really a “How To” Group, though we may discuss how-tos here as well. For the actual information on how to use Gaia features, please see the Gaia Team's How Tos and FAQ's Group or Gaia Community FAQ. This is not really a “let's chat about any topic” group; which is what the Gaia Lounge and other great groups are for, on Gaia. See Groups / Pods we Love on Gaia
Let us follow the rules of constructive conversation. The moderators will try to ensure this and that discussions flow smoothly. As moderators, it is our policy to help people to share ways to enhance their experience on Gaia, in a way that is balanced between the needs of ourselves and others. If discussions get too personal and seem to be about personal issues between two members, we may suggest other avenues to pursue these communications. The moderators' decision is final in these cases.
We hope you enjoy your experience on Gaia; and if this group helps to enhance it, we invite you to share!
Some thoughts: Are we making allowances for the other person's right to a different point of view? Right and wrong are not always black and white. Before I take a positive stand, it would be wise first to make sure that it is reasonable, and then that I have taken into account all possible reasons against my `right' point of view. An open mind is a handy thing to have when once I become willing to Live and Let Live. Let me not force my own certainties On others. I could be wrong. A Generous tolerance can smooth out many rough places in my day-to- day living.
Understand the thoughts of others if you would understand your own. Be kind to others if you would be kind to yourself.- Paramahansa YoganandaOur minds become restless because wherever we go, we see the faults and defaults and defects in others. This is not the point of view that we should take. Look carefully at what is of value in the person and respect that. Forget what we have seen to be lacking. When we go to a place or meet someone new, instead of trying to find their faults and criticize them, try to see the good and appreciate that. You should only look at those qualities in which you are lacking. In this way, you will always see the good and this will end your sorrow. - Mata Amritanandamayi (Ammachi), 'Awaken Children'
ENJOY!
On 15th January 2008, the wonderful community of Zaadz was renamed Gaia. It's still 'Powered by Zaadz'. Our pod title was changed to reflect this. Z-NETWORK:Enhancing your community experience on Zaadz became Enhancing your community experience on Zaadz /Gaia and then Enhance your Gaia community experience on March 1 2008 On May 2nd, 2008, we changed our name to Gaia Networking - Enhance Your Community Experience. As pods are increasingly being called Groups, we are incorporating that into our description as well.
