I was thinking today, while in my thoughtful spot, that the Gaia community offers so many different places and ways for me to interact.

After all, Gaia's named after the whole wide world! And that's not a misnomer

On this site my favorite discussions are keeping up with the Feature Member threads; then Create a Meaningful Community On Line by Terrill. Next  Let's Discuss the Economy by Amber.

My most favorite thing on Gaia is interacting with the Gaia Team and the Questions & Reflections following that direction to even more adventures besides my usual groups I help, I recommend making friends with each person on the team and branching out from there.

Today asks: What would you like to be more clear about? put yours and comment on the others that you like and that is the way to find friends you want to form more groups with.


What’s your thoughtful spot on Gaia?
I like the Q&R the best & love to find groups that do 30 day marathon blogs where we comment on each others.
Where do you play on Gaia?
In the e mails first!  I keep forgetting to go on my profile and feel a bit gamey when I see the grapevines.  My biggest game is posting on my friends blogs & love when I take time for it.

Where on Gaia do you do responsible work?
I am cultivator of Dreams of Artists, Now I Can See the Moon & mod here and the mod pod & Power of Light - & One Light Many Windows, all I tend to with great care & encourage others to help on those.  I train up new mods & find that a joy when I see them taking over things I was doing before.

Where do you go on Gaia when you want to be by yourself?
To Films & review them & lately the Quotes to help on the massive clean up.

On Gaia where do you go to party?

Where on Gaia do you discuss important issues?
In Realizing Health & Now I Can See The Moon on the key rooms where the discussions are.  We have lightness there too

Where do you go on Gaia when you’re restless along the beaten paths?
I reach out and extend them an invitation of friendship and catch up on the blogs that I have subscribed to because I love how they write.

I look forward to enjoying a cuppa hot tea each morning while thinking about the daily Questions and Reflections on the Community Homepage. 

Where do you play on Gaia?
In Bears House of Many Colors and I’m brand new to the Talespinner’s Tavern. 

Where on Gaia do you do responsible work?
In the personal message conversations that I initiate or respond to with Gaia Community members.  I also use the Grapevines to leave uplifting thoughts or a word of encouragement. 

Where do you go on Gaia when you want to be by yourself?
To Books and/or Quotes – I enjoy them both.  Additionally, I am a member of the 11:11 Progress Group.  And while I do contribute there, I think of myself more as an “active observer.” 

On Gaia where do you go to party?
In the 50+ Stars group. 

Where on Gaia do you discuss important issues?
In the Global Coherence Initiative group.  I’m also learning a LOT from the Networking - Enhance Your Community Experience group. 

Where do you go on Gaia when you’re restless along the beaten paths?
I look through the Members on the Gaia Community page.  Sometimes I do a search for people with similar interests and sometimes I look for people who have been members for a long time, but who have made very friends and then I reach out and extend them an invitation of friendship.

Laurie, just yesterday I read one of your status' where you'd mentioned your cuppa, I think and thought - I'd like to have a cuppa with Laurie! That's something I'm going to try as well.

Where on Gaia do you DISCUSS IMPORTANT ISSUES?: Fully Engaged in the Games of Life, the God Pod or Life, the Universe and Everything.

Where do you go on Gaia to show something you've done or are about to do?: i either message my friends about my intentions or tell them, or post about it. but mostly, i just message.

Where do you go on Gaia when you're restless along the beaten paths?: IlaiyRaaja (sp?) board, my friend Akbar, LB, or other friends. boards that catch my attention.

And I like love your answers, Suni! And the way you describe the groups as boards! [Earlier, we used to call the Rooms in our groups, boards!]

Hmm, I can see you don't need to be by yourself- you are yourself with whomever you are! What a gift! As I've had the privilege of seeing you in different groups, I really enjoy the open and cheerful messages you leave wherever you go.

How about letting us know How I Like To Celebrate My Birthday On & Off Line ? I know it's a ways yet, but…it'll be fun to know.

that's what i've always called the rooms on any site: boards. like a big bulletin board! well, i'm myself anywhere on here, because i feel no intimidation or need to hide here. in reality, i hide behind walls..because that's just life for me at the moment.  and so is my running nose! bleh! i think that this virus forgot to shut the faucet of my nose off…

I vant to be alone, eh? :) Well, I usually go off Gaia for that.

Lots of good parties in the 50 plus group, and on blogs, but a party can start anywhere - I usually keep an eye out.

My friends are wonderful for that. Either through a status line or messaging.

It depends on what I'm lonely for.

Wow! I go away for 4 days and come back to such a lush treat. Thank you Meenakshi for starting this thread and thank you to everyone else for such inspiring answers. Now let me give this a try…

What's your thoughtful spot on Gaia? Usually my status unless I have been moved to post a complete blog.

Where do you play on Gaia? I like to send playful grapevines to connect and remember people. I also go to “what's new” and browse around just to see what is happening in the community vibe.

Where on Gaia do you DO RESPONSIBLE WORK? Hummm. I tend to have a “responsible” bent that interspersed in all my work – likely comes from being an olderst child.

Where do you go on Gaia when you want to be by yourself? giggle - I will browse through “friends” blogs and the next thing I know I am posting comments… no longer feeling like being by myself.

On Gaia where do you go to ParTY? I make an conscious effort to lighten up and party… this is not my first choice. At a real-time party, I am the one at the door with my coat before the last guest has arrived telling my host I have had a lovely time - and I have! My stimulation level is just very low. For example, two hour maximum shopping - with a list - once a month and then I am toast and ready to go home. My partner laughs… he says he knows of no other woman like me but I am sure there must be others. Yes?

Where on Gaia do you go for solace or support? I often read most recent blog posts of my “friends.” There are always many wise words that just seem to be in the right place at the right time. Often these posts make me laugh and appreciate joyful living.

Where do you go on Gaia when you're restless along the beaten paths? This seldom happens because I tend to play in all of Gaia through “what's new” and “what's hot.”

My experience with Gaia is embodied in a quote by John Daido Loori “Open yourself to discovery. Enjoy the mystery. All the good stuff is hidden in the dark corners. It's what gives life its sense of vitatlity.” 2004 in The Zen of Creativity: Cultivating Your Artisitc Life

Good one, Meenakshi. I've only yet read half way through all the answer posts but I find it very interesting to see where others go on Gaia, it's actually quite inspirational, too.

What's your thoughtful spot on Gaia?
It's other people's blogs, sometimes discussion threads, too, although they usually leave me a bit agitated; don't know why. I absolutely love reading other people's (friends' but also strangers') blogs. It leaves a lot of space for reflection. I don't always leave comments because even though blogs inspire me to reflect, I often don't find the right words to comment, so I just pass by unseen.

Where do you play on Gaia?
On my friends' Grapevines, by commenting on blogs and sometimes in PMs, too.

Where on Gaia do you DO RESPONSIBLE WORK?
I'm afraid I don't. I started to both in my blog and in groups but got discouraged by no response or too much of it going in directions I didn't support. The other day ~KES inspired me to talk a bit about the situation in Sri Lanka in a group and I enjoyed that, sometimes I need a little push, maybe.
I also do “responsible work” by connecting with people. I have found that I connect well with younger people here on Gaia and I am always happy if I can give some advice, ideas or encouragement and if I can serve (very remotely) as a role model (haha, although I'm really not a role model type).

Where do you go on Gaia when you want to be by yourself?
All over. I'm by myself a lot when on Gaia. Not always voluntarily but I often find myself browsing the site for a long time without interacting at all, just reading, looking, reflecting. Sometimes forming words and sentences in my head that never get typed down.

On Gaia where do you go to ParTY?
When I party, I switch of my computer, turn on the music and then YAY! I don't party online.

Where on Gaia do you go for solace or support?
I don't know. Not always to the right people, I have figured because I have often experienced that things I mention that are important to me are left uncommented and unresponded to. I know that the problem is probably that I don't openly ask for solace or support but do it rather subtly or hide it in mundane topics. Also, when I get support or solace, I can't always deal with it and “put it aside”, procrastinate taking the subject up again.
For technical support I visit the Gaia Support Group.


Where on Gaia do you go when you're lonely?
All over. I'm often lonely. The Members section. I go there quite a lot to see who's online. Makes me feel less lonely. Sometimes I try to connect to people whose profiles look interesting. Doesn't always work though.

Where on Gaia do you go to be INSPIRED?
Hmm… good question, I don't know. To blogs I guess. But then the inspiration is usually a reflection only. However, I am very open to more inspiration in all kinds of different ways but will yet have to find good places to find it. Groups, of course, are often inspiriring.

Where on Gaia do you DISCUSS IMPORTANT ISSUES?
Anywhere, groups, comments on blogs and PMs. I think important issues should be discussed anywhere. You know, spread the word, get as much feedback and attention as possible. If desired, that is.

My blog, my picture section, my status line.

Where do you go on Gaia when you're restless along the beaten paths?
Same as Laurie and Meenakshi (combination of both). I browse through the Members section or I read New and also Hot/Active blogs and sometimes also discussions.

Jenny, so glad to read your answers. I like the way you voice  your experience.  Note to self -'When you read something that moves you or brings up a feeling - share it in some way with the writer! Don't let them feel no one cares–BUT don't overwhelm either'. Does this seem a good learning from your experience? One thing I do learn from being online - and will keep doing [and offline as well] is that everyone has their styles of writing, and if at first I don't like someone's, I can give them the benefit of the doubt…So your post has taken me into a thoughtful spot, so I'll take myself off this flow of responses.

Erm… I'm not sure if I understood correctly what you were saying… like why my post has put you in a thoughtful spot?! But yes, as for letting people know I appreciated what they wrote or posted, I try to do that, even if it's sometimes just a superficial “I like it!” (not meant superficially, of course). But sometimes there already is a discussion going on via comments so jumping in with an “I like it” isn't really appropriate. Actually, if I just (and no, it's not just just) like something, it's easy to convey that to the person who posted it. It gets harder if it has opened a stream of thought in me because then I'm really at a loss of appropriate words sometimes as my stream of thought might have little to do with the posting itself and has yet stirred something in me.
(PS: I'm sorry, I didn't mean to drag you back into the flow of responses…)

It's the questions and reflections! I don't answer a whole lot of them, but when I do I really enjoy seeing what others answered after I answered in my own way. Or, sometimes I do it the other way around. I'll see what others say and if I have something different, I'll post my answer.

Where do you play on Gaia
I think the grapevines on profiles are very playful. And Dan Millstein's play has brought joy to my day on many occasions. He keeps on changing his nickname to something hilarious. Currently he's Rakey Master Dan, and he shows an image of his zen garden rake.

hehehehe, if I want to be by myself, I go to my room, where there's no computer!

Oh, I remember the very fun parties I attended last year and the year before that. (whoops but I don't rememer the people who hosted them) I call them shift-enter parties because unlike a chat room that updates automatically, the Zaadz party browser screen has to be constantly refreshed, and then you see that several people included links to their favorite songs or youtube videos. So there is music playing, virtual refreshments flowing, small talk and general banter.

Actually, in the past I've called upon Ms. Centria for solace and support! I want to emphatically thank you, Centria, for our several telephone chats and for your support! Also, my tight knit moderator's group at The Power of Light pod are a blessing of a support system, and I'm proud and beaming to have all of you in my life! (I know you're reading!) Thank you!

Gaia/Zaadz has been a beacon of light in my life. I can get lonely sometimes, even though I'm raising a family of three stepchildren and two children. Moms, you know how it goes?…sometimes I go for months without talking to another adult for support. Gaia is there for me if I only reach out. I know that behind the avatars and icons and playful nicknames there are real people waiting to support each other.

I'll take a tour of my Gaia friends' blogs! Just seeing what everyone else is up to is inspiring.

:) The word “important” is loaded! For me, an important issue would be the fact that my Gaia profile page doesn't have commas separating my favorite movies! (I'm talking about last year) :) So, I got bugged about it for several months then finally decided it was time to ask for a change! I went to the Think Tank. That issue was fixed within the week. But, taking the word “important” to another level, I loved going to Co-Creating Reality: What the Bleep pod several years ago to talk about the issues that moved me the most. I own a copy of Down the Rabbit Hole, What the Bleep do we Know? and love to talk about anything discussed therein.

My Gaia blog is my showcase. Through the years as I've unveiled new web sites and posted my ebook live, I use my blog to notify my friends about it.

Jessica, it's lovely to read your answers. Thank you so much for the digression from your feature to come and answer them! It's interesting - but not unexpected - to find points of similarity with people's answers, and points of wonderful aha's! I had a few with your answers [e.g. Dan's playfulness! Of course!]

And Lee, how rude I've been - could've sworn I responded to your answers, but now I can't see them in this thread. Even though I'm a member of some of the green groups on Gaia, I see from your list that there are so many more! For me, since you've been such a help with my questions on gardening [still planning on October!] you're my first port of call with questions!
