Just saying hello!

Myra said Jun 23, 5:44 PM:

I've been on Gaia awhile now, but I have not posted in any of the forums or threads.  I thought it was time to introduce myself!  My name is Myra.  I am on a spiritual path studying the Yoga of Manifestation as outlines by my guru, Bhagavan Sri Atmananda.  Sri Atmananda has taught the Bhagavad Gita as a path in and of itself which takes a seeker through all stages of growth, from Self-Relization to God Realization to Enlightenment and beyond into the realm of complete manifestation of Divine.  It strongly correlated to Mothers and Sri Aurobindo's Integral Yoga.

I recently moved to Eagan, Minnesota from Reno, Nevada and have greatly been enjoying the move.

That's a little bit about me.  I hope to get to know you all. :)

Love and Light.

Hi Myra, delighted to see you here! I enjoyed looking through your profile. Having such a deep connection to the beautiful teachings of the Bhagavad Gita, how would you like to share them on Gaia? Can I suggest some groups on Gaia? We have some of them described here: Groups / Pods we Love on Gaia

Hi Myra,  What a wonderful introduction. I remember when I first started posting… I was intimidated and wanted to make certain of the security on the web.   On Gaia Networking we have made it safe… there are no “cliques” although it may look like that… it's just the amount of people that take the time to post, so just jump in and we are here to catch & help.  Ask any questions and someone will answer.  Welcome aboard. ~kes

I am always free to answer questions about my path.  I can guide from my own experience of it, but that is about it.  I have been finding it difficult to navigate the forums here, so suggestions are always good.

I don't view myself as a teacher per say.  I have nothing to say or do, other than to respond to the signals Prakriti brings.  Everyone's way of connecting to spirit is beautiful.  I could never impose on that or others viewpoints, so I just sit back until people come to me.

Love and Light.

Hello there Myra, I am so pleased that you dropped by to say hello.  I am glad to know that you are enjoying your recent transition to the midwest.  Geographically speaking, we share the same snow belt (I'm just south of you in Illinois).  Have you spent a winter here yet?  If not, it's quite different from Nevada.

The key to winters in the midwest is to dress in layers.  Start with silk (not cotton) long underwear from LL Bean, Lands' End, or Eddie Bauer.  Silk wicks away moisture and dries really fast!  Then pile on thin layers over that.  Make sure that your snow boots are at least calf-high because the snow piles are high.  If your boot tops are low your boots will fill with snow. When you go outside, cover your nose and mouth with a muffler.  That (and lots of hot tea) will combat bronchitis.

The photo was taken from my front door in February 2009.  And we get a lot less snow than you do in Minnesota.  If you love snow, you're going to love it here.  Welcome to the midwest and welcome to the Gaia Community!

Welcome to Gaia Networking.   Burrrrrr… living in California I recall the snow and the beauty of the season.  I didn't know this about silk–good tip.

“I am on a spiritual path studying the Yoga of Manifestation…takes a seeker through all stages of growth, from Self-Relization to God Realization to Enlightenment and beyond into the realm of complete manifestation of Divine.”  Thanks for sharing Myra…you have come to the best networking social site as there are many like minded on this type of path.  Let us know the groups you are joining so we can be with you on a weekly basis.  Best to you always..

Thank you for the advice!  I have not spent a winter here yet.  I visited in December and January (and it was REALLY cold) but I was not here living.  I know nothing of layering, so your advice is very, very helpful!  Thank you so much!

Love and Light.

Hi Myra, welcome here !!! I lived in central Iowa for over 4 years, so I too have experienced the Midwest winters. It's great that you are loving your move, and there really is always something to enjoy, every time of year.

I specialize in helping Newbies with this site, and the best suggestion I have for learning how to get around is spend time clicking on everything in all the columns on the left. Also, please feel free to email me, or post here, any specific questions you have. And it would be helpful to know more specifically what it is that you find so challenging about getting around, because the Team is always looking for ways to make the site more user-friendly, and it certainly is better than it used to be !!!!!!

What would you like to do that you are finding hard to figure out how to do??

I echo what others have said. Jump in, and get involved. May you come to love this place as much as I do !!!

Blessings, OM Bastet
