Eli of the sacred mountains-2

Meenakshi said Sep 12, 3:31 PM:

We continue our feature of Eli of the sacred mountains  here, as that thread is now slow loading.
A summation:

Eli , whom we also know as Swami Shraddhasudhasharananda  has once again decided to return to his beloved mountains, where he will not have internet access. So, leaving his profile and blogs up for us to be inspired by, he is taking his leave of Gaia.

Gaia members are coming to greet their beloved friend, and some are coming to meet him for the first time.

Re: Eli of the sacred mountains-2- Prayer Project

Meenakshi said Sep 12, 3:49 PM:

Eli  whom many also call Swamiji as he is Swami Shraddhasudhasharananda or Guruji, has a dream that he would like to see realized.

Bringing some posts from the other thread as we discuss this project with him:

He  has requested:
I …   appeal to ALL to join Siona in a prayer project which She will perhaps soon initiate at my personal request.
Our Mother Earth needs our combined prayers, the need is urgent.
The need is that we pray together AT THE SAME APPOINTED HOUR EVERY DAY.”

There are TWO basic needs:
1. Synchronous sincere prayer by a Big number of people EACH day at SAME appointed time.
2. At the individual level, observance of solemn and spiritual silence for 10 mins every day.
We need 1500-2000, not 150-200.

We need to focus on Mother Earth in our prayers. Time is any convenient period when people can do it together.
If this project matures, I will humbly try to indicate what we can do.
—————
we do it in groups, each group belonging to a time zone does it together. For example people belonging to India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka etc. can join in ONE group and decide their own convenient 15 mins time slot, while People in Europe could perhaps decide their own time. As long as we have numbers in each group, it will focus the Light in a tight healing beam from that group.

Let us see how things evolve, we might need one person for each group, and a central co-ordinator of the project over-viewing this whole project …

just a thought … it needs refinement and fine tuning.
————
1. We don't need to worry about WHAT WORDS or HOW we pray, our Higher Self HAS the right words. We all know and have experienced that at the level which we are talking about, the LIGHT,the VIBRATIONS, the ENERGY is what matters. ANY PATH, ANY WORDS can create them as long as we are humble, sincere, and honest in our prayer.
2. Siona said the internet and technology has already done such strange things to time–it's possible to hold a conversation at 'the same time' in different time zones– that the mind nearly boggles.
Time is OUR concept, in the Universal Consciousness what exists as fundamental property is CHANGE …  to understand, measure  and communicate this fundamental property and we created “time” as a concept and a measure. So when we are doing a project reaching out to the cosmic level… let us simple focus on synchronous “Moment” (we call it MUHURTA in ancient Vedic Science…the NOW)
3. Which brings me to re-emphasize the need for a concentrated FOCUS on a specific NOW, the NOW when we will all be merging our higher selves in generating the Light, and when we will offer our gratitude to our Mother.
4. OM, the need is POSITIVE COLLECTIVE LIGHT. I know that you know, and I know that you are holding my hand as I am holding yours in this project.

The “form” is organically evolving, and I already feel the high energy. I patiently await the lotus to finally bloom.

Some ideas that have been presented by members:
debyemm : …  at any given moment, upon this earth, simultaneously in prayer are the 1500-2000 that you indicate are needed. In my heart, I know that all is always well and perfect and good; and that this request of your heart, has already been fulfilled in reality, but that any one of us has the belief to perceive it is so.

Alluvja : have a neighbour and a copple of friends around here that are going to do a 24 hour meditative AUM chanting marathon with the intention to send love and healing energy to Mother Earth

1Vector3 : My church is also willing to participate in Swamiji's project, however it takes form. We might even be able to coordinate a simple timezone, like Alaska-Hawaii time zone, one hour west of Pacific Time Zone. Not that we know many people there already….. But if it is meant to be, 2000 people can be found.
I suggest 12 noon as a good time in each timezone. Most people are up by then, and many are at lunch.
I like a lot of what Siona said, and also wonder about linking up with the existing group apparently doing exactly what Eli was suggesting.

Meenakshi9:09 : the Gaia minute
Each day at 9:09 in the morning or evening, let us spend a moment or more to beam our highest vibration into Gaia, Mother Earth with all sentient and insentient beings. To raise our vibration, we can pray, meditate, hold intention or simply visualize Gaia as healed, healing, whole, radiant. When thousands of people join together in an endeavor such as this, the energies so generated can bring miraculous changes. When each of us does it in  our own time zone, our Mother Earth and all of us get the benefit of a round-the-clock healing.

HummingBird : My own sense is it's best to meditate early before 'the day begins' - but I know others find early mornings difficult. It can be difficult but I just prefer to meditate early before 'the day begins' - early can mean having free time we may not always have otherwise.

Bhatta: n ancient Vedic thoughts we find reference of “Trisandhya”.
Sandhya means “junction”. Ancient wise men recognized three (tri) junctions (sandhya)  “moments” in each cycle from sunrise till next sunrise. We are told that the best time for prayers is these three “moments”.
As the night goes away and dawn breaks, that is first Sandhya.
At midday, as the forenoon passes and afternoon approaches, that is the second sandhya.
As the sun sets, and night arrives, that junction moment is the third sandhya.
—-
yinyangbigbang : I also truly believe it is important to choose a time globally, or to create subgroups by time zone, so that hearts and intentions can be amplified by joining together as one.  I believe in this way, that we not only magnify our powerful intentions outward to the all, but also recieve the exponential energy within ourselves as we literally and consciously join together as one.

Siona: I am going to meditate on this project this weekend. Something in me is whispering with a similar urgency, but it's carrying with it the message that this is not something that should or could be heavily coordinated or structured, and that the last thing to do is to worry about logistics and organization.

I'm wondering - is the 'need' to pray for Mother Earth; or for Gaia - the Oneness? My sense is that the 'need' is only to hold love in our hearts, and to trust that by doing this–by opening ourselves and trusting in this–that things will unfold as they must. I certainly am not wise or farsighted enough to know what Gaia needs and wants, but I trust that 'she' does, and I want only to demonstrate that trust in these circles. :)

After spending some time this weekend resting in my own heart (and trying not to feel too daunted by the enormity of this!) I've posted one proposal, based on the collected ideas above, in the Gaia Community Vision Group here. Please let me know what you each think, remembering that this is an evolving, living process and my intent is only to plant the seed.

We could change the meditation to be at 12 noon instead, but I loved Meenakshi's (and others) idea of a unique morning minute that we could each recall. I think that offering both – a shared line we could call into as well as the daily meditations in our unique time zones, to create the cascade of Eli's heart – means that the one will just reinforce the other.

Continuing from previous thread, Anna said Could you please share thoughts about Attachment and how one can be liberated from attachment

Much has already been said about it by the holy and wise people dear Anna. I could not perhaps add anything “new”.

However, I could share a few words which are directly from my personal experience.

Liberation from attachment is not easy. That, in itself is a journey. Bhagwad Gita's declares in verse 47, chap 2 ”You have a right to perform your prescribed duty, but you are not entitled to the fruits of action. Never consider yourself the cause of the results of your activities, and never be attached to not doing your duty.

This is unattachment. Immediate question is, ok fine, but HOW?

The very next verse is a cue :
“Perform your duty equipoised, O Arjuna, abandoning all attachment to success or failure. Such equanimity is called yoga.” (Gita 2:48)

Such equanimity is called yoga….

So, we have a clue. YOGA … and when we say yoga, we don't mean just the physical Asanas. ALL the eight limbs of Astanga yoga. Yama, Niyyama, Asanas, Pranayam … this will lead to withdrawal of senses from the outside world to create internal awareness - Pratyahara.

Once we achieve Pratyahara, we are on way to liberation from attachment.

But there are many other paths, and ALL paths would lead to the same goal. The Noble Eightfold path - Right View, Right Intention, Right Speech, Right Action, Right Livelihood, Right Effort, Right Mindfulness, Right Concentration - also leads us to same light.

But why am I repeating what is already known to all of us?

Instead, here are a few tips for everyday living:

1. Each day, while going to bed, wash your hands and feet. Just before sleeping, surrender all your day's work - good and bad - to your faith (personal God/Spirit/Guru/Universal Consciousness…whatever be your “anchor”). Just tell in your mind ” The day is done, it was your day, and I surrender my work to you”.

2. Each morning, before starting the day, similarly THANK for a new sunshine and repeat in your mind “It is YOUR day, YOUR work, thank you for giving me another opportunity to SERVE  YOU.

3. Whenever you wash your hands, remind yourself “With this wash, I am washing away my attachment to whatever I have done till now and offering the work and it's results to YOU”

perhaps these will help on a day to day basis.

Anna,

This is such a beautiful and appropriate poem for this thread.

I sense that Gaia, Mother Earth, does not need us to heal her.  She will continue.  The serious question is whether man will continue upon the Earth.  For if man causes the planetary environment to be unsustainable, it is only unsustainable for humankind.  Other conscious beings (more in harmony) will then dominate, if man is no more.

Let us hope that ongoing work of so many, including Eli's work and those of us who join that work through prayer, will effect the shift that allows humankind to align in harmony with the Earth, our actions of the past will bring into manifestation a New Earth regardless.  Some will adapt, others will be purged.  Always has it been and ever shall it be.

Peace & Blessings -

Hummingbird, thank you especially for sharing that poem from your daughter. So poignant, in context.

I love that song, too, Meenakshi. Love chants in general.

Deb, I have to agree with this:

I sense that Gaia, Mother Earth, does not need us to heal her.  She will continue.  The serious question is whether man will continue upon the Earth.

Yet I can sense that the attitude of love, appreciating, and caring for the Earth, represented by the song and the proposed project, is — ultimately and perhaps unconsciously — more for the purpose of radiating that attitude so that more people will shift to it, and in caring for the Earth, we keep her inhabitable by us. So while Earth doesn't “need” us to “heal” her, a shift in our mass consciousness toward more appreciating and honoring her and doing what is good for her, will ultimately benefit her and us.  A win-win. Does that make sense??

Love, OM

Please help me.

Please let everyone know (and you could quote my mail if that is the right way to do it) that I am deeply moved and I feel whatever is evolving is THE RIGHT EVOLUTION, and is guided by DIVINE WILL..

We have a long way to go, but it is an auspicious beginning already . Just observe how Divine will works. The number 9 was predestined to appear though it looks like WE decided on 9. The number 9 is the most humanitarian of all numbers. Humanitarian, warm, responsive, compassionate, self sacrificing, universalist philosophy, community orientation etc are it's typical characteristics.

9:09 - please tell, everybody that 9 minutes of prayer time is indicated by the divine choice.

My response is YES to your and Siona's post. ……………….

I will be posting online as soon as this erratic power cuts stabilize. Till then, I will keep in touch on emails with you, keep me updates and ask if anything is needed, I will work through you via emails.”

Question-answer about Gaia community:

Q- What has inspired you about Gaia? What role do you think it plays in the world today? What role do you think Gaia can play in the world in future?
Eli-The close and purposeful commitment, the honesty, the warm hearted unconditional support it offers, the way it keeps itself clean of online nuisances, the love and wisdom of Siona handling issues in a most caring yet firm and mature way. If Gaia is steered intelligently like it is being done at present, it would be a torchlight for universal brotherhood and perhaps will have a historical significance. Gaia is one of the rare places where people can feel safe even in an online situation.

Q-Is there anything else about Gaia that you would like to share with members?
Eli-I can't think of any specific thing, but perhaps Gaia needs to be popularized. Online awareness of Gaaia needs to be looked into. Also, Gaia needs to get out of it's somewhat “western membership bias”, Asia and South east is thinly represented.

What a wonder that is to see unfolding! Decisively, collaboratively, you have the remarkable skill to bring a team of diverse people together, working in a focused, heart-filled way.

This is another gift you have given to Gaia, dear Swami Eli.

Eli, as you, Bhatta and others on Gaia are in Bengal , I wanted to share these verses from the well loved Bengali poet, Rabindranath Tagore for our friends. It's about earth, so it has a special meaning.

The earth of Bengal, Bengal's waters, the air of Bengal, Bengal's fruit
Consecrate, consecrate, consecrate, oh Lord
The homestead of Bengal, Bengal's market,
the woods of Bengal, Bengal's field
Be bounteous, be bounteous, be bounteous, oh Lord.
The resolve of a Bengalee, his hope,
the toil of a Bengalee, his language
Be truthful, be truthful, be truthful of Lord.
The heart of a Bengalee, his mind,
All the brothers and sisters in a Bengalee household
Be one, be one, be one, oh Lord.
–from Selected Songs of Rabindranath Tagore, translated by Abu Rushd

Thank you Meenakshi for finding this very famous Song composed by Tagore. The first two lines, as they appear in Original Bengali read:

“Banglar mati Banglar jal, Banglar vayu Banglar phal
Punya houk, Punya houk, Punya houk, he Bhagawan”

(Bangla = Bengal, mati=earth, jal=earth, vayu=air,phal=fruit,Bhagwan=God)

Bangla is such a beautiful language, sweet and poetic. Even though I don't know it, just listening to it is inspiring. Thank you for giving the original words, Bhatta [I was hoping you would ;p]

Gift to us From Eli , Swami Shraddhasudhasharananda:
~A Guide To Prayer ~

What we're asking here is pray, just pray.Pray…pray..pray…Gaia is calling.Just pray in total surrender, in complete faith, and that prayer collectively done - at least 1,000 or 1,500 people - done at the same time, will generate the positive healing energy for all of us. Not asking for only one special person, not asking even for the betterment of general life. Nothing.   Just surrendering and praying.

Om Namo Narayanam

If you keep your palm upside down, how can you hold the blessings in yoru palm? So to receive the prayers also, to receive theblessings also, you are to turn your palm the right way up and receive it. Praying is that.

Although we know that the blessings are around, but to be aware of the blessings we've to put our plam the right way up so that it comes into our palm.

Thanks to Kathy for making the video.
