Oooh, I have 10 tips. Don't underestimate them because of their simplicity.

1. Click around
2. Read
3. Write
4. Join
5. Write
6. Read
7. Click around

Anyone who does that, will make the most of their Gaia experience. They'll find what there is to find, so many corners and nooks and crannies.

If I were to say more I would say:

1. Find out how to track everything the Team does. [Team Blog]
2. Pursue your interests via the various ways to search. [Search]
3. Study the How To's, and ask. [Help]

Right now I don't have time to make links for all that, perhaps someone else can throw in the links for those 3. I will later if no one else does.

Hi Susan ! It is nice to meet you and I look forward to more of your sharing with us. I didn't know that about garlic & appreciate what you said about it for medicinal purposes on this video. You must meet Laurie too. She is also in Realizing Health as Bhatta mentioned and we did a 3 thread feature on her recently that aligns with meeting others on a social website with aware beings. Hi Susan, boy oh boy are you welcome here !!!!! You'll find so many others interested in herbs, herbal medicine, etc. and indeed other experts!

To get started, I suggest you go to the top of any Gaia page and in the What do you seek? field put in herbal. And then herbs. And then herbalist. You'll be able to look through quotes, books, groups, and discussions/conversations. I found 10 groups and 288 discussions for "herbal."

As you ask around, and post around, ask folks to point you to places that might be of interest and where you might be of value. You'll soon find how wondrous this community is.

Feel free to ask me any questions, I love supporting Newbies.

I joined in May 2007. I had seen an ad in the Utne Reader (which I never read, but somehow read one article one time and saw the ad!!) and had marked it with several asterisks to investigate. I was not looking for an online community, and in fact felt intimidated by the idea. But I loved the quotes from the people which the ad was full of. They sounded as if they were spiritually inclined, world-concerned, and kindly people. My kind of people. I wanted to interact with them.

I don't remember what finally triggered me to actually check out the website. It was some time later. I joined after not much looking around. I was soooo impressed that one had to apply and be approved, to join. That was a huge factor in my deciding to join !!!!!

I never came even close to imagining, back then, the depth and breadth of the joys I have found from my activities in this community. The people are far better than I even thought. The possibilities of closeness and the global village feeling, I never dreamed of them. The give and take, the uplifting, the playing, the support, the learning, growing, expanding, and so many other benefits I can hardly begin to name. I tried a few in this blog about when I applied to be an Ambassador.

Mindblowing. This community is now as important to me as any other arena of my life.
