There's a new hit song in Ghana. Calypso or Reggae?

They say in the news that you hear it everywhere: in bars, restaurants, shops and taxicabs. It has a catchy rhythm, a melodic chorus, and a loud note of praise for our new president.

The song is entitled simply "Barack Obama." Recorded by the Ghanaian reggae-rapper Blakk Rasta, it celebrates Obama's ascendance as a "great sign" for black people everywhere.

Oooh, what a FANTASTIC way to wind down this month and year! I totally enjoyed listening to that. It's like a familiar story!

Thank you all again for making me feel at home in this group and this community. I don't know if Amber has anything more to add in terms of closing comments, but I would like to just say it's been such an honour to be embraced by my peers in such a way. I feel we're all doing our little part where we are, to be the change.

My vision of the world is simply more contented, generous and loving people, thus my having to be it, myself! I'm satisfied as I end another year that I'm being sincere in my expression of this. The [unexpected] returns, such as these glowing tributes, are outstanding! This still isn't at all the motivation for my actions, it's simply to feel peace in all I'm doing, and for me this means extending my heart and my mind to their true potential.

As committed, I'd like to start the year in communion with my Father and I think I'll just get to it now. There is very much to be grateful for, and I'd like to move into this new year, with joy in my heart, knowing that tomorrow will start a new day of possibility and hope for peace in my lifetime.

I thank you all once again.

Our island was the only one formed out of coral deposits and not tectonic activity like the other Caribbean islands, many of which are volcanic. Indeed, our underlying rock is coral limestone, which we are proud to say filters our rain water extremely well and helps to make the water some of the purest and safest to drink anywhere!

The various formations come from gradual erosion and emergence over thousands of years, especially along the Eastern and Northern coasts, where the trade winds strike constantly and seas are rougher.

Love the Beautiful Barbados link, Sherrilene! I can't wait to meet you in person one day, the sand between our toes, the sun burning my skin the proper shade of pink! ~grin~

It's 8 and 3/4 hours from Miami to Barbados by plane and 6 and 1/2 hours from Portland Oregon to Miami to sit under the Meditation Tree with you! I could read an entire book without interruption during the flight! Pure luxury!

I did the same thing as you did, OM! I watched many minutes of Barbados video, turned up the heat, and let the cold, Pacific Northwest weather fade away! The fuzzy blankets and lack of swim wear sort of clued me in that I wasn't in the tropics, though! LOL

My favorite things about our friend, Sherrilene, are these... Her beautiful smile... her unfaltering love of life and humanity... her ability to look at the abundance around her and put together the Quality of Life Reminders and Thoughts so we can see the abundance too. I have gained, throughout this month of sharing, a special connection to our Gaian Sister, Sherrilene, that makes me smile inside and out!

She, like the pictures below, gives our world color and depth and the Quality of Life Reminder to Relax!

Where did all the giant rocks on the beaches come from, and the cliffs, and the rugged countryside? This doesn't at all look like Florida, in terms of terrain.
