Pilates

samantha [no longer around] said Dec 6, 2006, 9:33 AM:

Hello all,

After a career sitting behind a desk with a phone connected to my ear, I decided I had had enough! I was desperate to move over into the world of mind/body connection. And, oh does it feel good!

Since July, I've been enrolled in an intensive teacher certification program in Authentic Pilates, taught by a master teacher who was trained by Joseph Pilates' protege, Romana Kryzanowska. It's challenging, difficult, and very different from the brain-centered work that I focused on for nearly 20 years.

I'm slowly putting the “body” back into my body so that I can learn to be a better teacher.

Is anybody else involved in this activity? It's not really a “sport”– it's more a WAY OF BEING!

YES!  I love pilates.  I've been dancing all my life, and a couple years ago, we started doing some pilates to begin our warm-up.  Ever since that first day we did pilates, I've been obsessed with it.  I am so into it. I have a book on it that really helps me with everything as well.  I love pilates!!
