Not long ago, I wrote a bit on the Team blog about how much I'd been enjoying the Zaanghas that've been happening in the Bay Area. From George Kao's regular meetings to the salons of friends to the laid-back calls for conversation at local cafes I've put forth, it's been an incredible treat getting to take part of a weekend to sit down with wonderfully familiar strangers and indulge in long, heartening discussions about those topics close to all our heart. And I'd highly, highly encourage more of you to make that brave step and host a Zaangha in your neighborhood.
How to start? It's pretty simple.
Poke around on the site for any Zaadz members near you, and then just invite them to tea. Ask them to bring a friend or two who they think might be good company. If you're really feeling motivated you can put up a flier on a local public bulletin board (I find the most intriguing visitors tend to be those who just show up!), or, on the day the Zaangha meets, just invite anyone else in the space to join into your conversation. You'll be amazed - I promise! - at how many people are willing to share when invited to speak about the future, and their dreams. In general, though, you don't need more than a few beings to hold a good gathering, and sometimes it's easiest to start small. So do what feels best for you.
We've put together a quick manual for those of you interested in learning more about hosting a Zaangha, so if you want more direction, you can download the booklet by clicking here. Have a look, and send a few emails, and post here to let the rest of us know how it goes!
