1Vector3 I I heard that movie attendance in the US is UP despite economic hard times. I assume people get tired of being at home watching DVD's and want to GO OUT and be entertained. What do you think? (8 months ago)

David Carradine, prematurely gone

1Vector3 said Jun 4, 11:57 PM:

David Carradine died in Thailand yesterday, under suspicious circumstances. I will put in some links when I can, but you can do a search and find many articles about the death.

He was one of my favorite actors of all time. I am still in shock.

Damn!!

He regarded that film(s) as his finest work, so I probably will see. Gotta go some to beat other things. I ate up the TV Kung Fu series. He was one of those always-under-recognized really talented actors…..

I don't know whether this list will be useable. It is a copy of my Bookmarks from the story:

I am deeply saddened by the going of the Grasshopper, because it has not been with the grace that I associate with his work.

But then, as I read in an article by Steve Lombardi:
=======
Would we want to see Mr. Carradine go out differently? Perhaps we would like him to have died quietly in his sleep or sitting in a rocking chair watching the sun set, but destiny may have played a part in developing the facts of the Carradine case. We may shout, I Object Your Honor! And that will be all to no avail. Because as Master and Grasshopper discussed, in life the following statements are opposite, but both are still true.

Grasshopper: What happens in a man’s life is already written. A man must move through life as his destiny wills.
Master: Yes, yet each man is free to live as he chooses.
=============

Perhaps also to die as he chooses. Who knows whether he did. I'm going to be looking at  the series that I”d bought last year.

I agree with those thoughts about “going gracefully.” Thank you for that perspective, or those perspectives.

I wonder whether the links from my Bookmarks will work as copy and paste, as they are the URLs.

Oooooh, thank you for the YouTube items !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just to let you know, that if you right-click each link, the Properties tab shows the actual url, and it can then be copy-pasted.

Also, when the mouse hovers over the link, you see the actual link [in FF] but can't copy it.

Re: David Carradine, prematurely gone -- and a bit re Gaia Films

Meenakshi, among your many talents: technowizard.

Just wanted to add here in this group that ~KES entered the Kung Fu series and the two Kill Bill movies to the Gaia Films database, and started a couple of threads about Carradine there which I have added to there.

Here are some attempted links:

http://groups.gaia.com/gaia_films/345/kung-fu—the-complete-series-collection

http://groups.gaia.com/gaia_films/conversations/view/446276#446276

I don't really know how that section of Gaia works, just dipping into it. First impression, it's challenging to get around and do things. However, eventually, this group and that one (one?) will be chums.

Blessings, OM
